My stay at Zakia’s riad was great. After Tangier, Chefchaouen, and Meknes, the town of Moulay Idriss was a wonderful break. The town was small and everyone was very friendly. A neighbor invited me to see him bake bread in a oven that has probably been used for thousands of years. The donkeys transport the produce and goods along the cobblestone streets. My tour of Volubilis was great. I got a guide to walk me around (at the site) and I’m glad I did. it’s an amazing place. One of the benefits of staying with Zikia is that you could go to Volubilis either early or late in the day and miss the bus crowds tha come in from Meknes and Fed. it made it a much better experience for me. Zakia is such a warm and wonderful host. She lives in Fez and came all the way to Mouley Idress (over an hour’s drive) because I had booked the room. She was me the amazing top floor with an amazing view of the mountains. You would feel like royalty in the room. Her breakfast was great for a small charge - a true Moroccan feast. I would highly recommend making a stay with Zakia a part of your trip to Morocco.

We went at La Colombe simply for the logistics. The plan was to arrive late, explore nearby ruins of Volubilis the next morning, then head to Meknes. We were surprised by a lively village, with a rich religious history. Our host answered all our questions, and more The place was simple, and beautiful. A donkey was offered to help bring the luggage up the mostly-stairs sidewalk to the riad There was a wedding in the center of town during our short stay, it was lively and joyfull. However, windows closed and AC on made the room reasonably quiet. Ask to go explore the rooftop, it's one of the best sights I've had in Morocco.

We booked due to the location without knowing the host, Azzeddine, is an accomplished chef. Had the best meal of our trip, while there. Azzeddine was wonderful to chat with, very friendly and interesting. Whole experience was amazing and the highlight of our time in Morocco. Loved that it's a working farm with lots of animals around. Location is incredible, only a 10 minute walk to Volubilis, which means you can easily get to the roman ruins when they open and avoid the tour bus groups.

This is an amazing riad, in the midst of Meknes' Medina. The way from the parking place to the riad was approximately a 4 minute walk and easily manageable with trolleys. The design and style of the riad is awesome, very elegant and reduced - a welcome change vs. the overloaded decoration of other properties. We took the upper two suites and they were flooded with light and we were more than happy having ample space and a large bathroom. The rooms also had great heating, which we needed as the nights turned cold. The breakfast is impeccable, and we found the rooftop terrace stunning. The only riad with no television in the room! We loved it! Lots of restaurants nearby and most sights within walking distance. Excellent value for money - this property enjoys our unreserved recommendation!

Raschid was very welcoming and helpful with a good sense of humor. The room was very nice with our own private bathroom a few steps down the hall. breakfast was great shared with fellow travelers.
