We stayed with Dina and family three separate times over our three-week stay in Madagascar. On our last stay we had a longer layover in Tana than we had anticipated, and were delighted to have lunch with them in Ivato at a nice place overlooking a valley; afterward, they took us into Tana with them to tour the Queen's Palace which they also wanted to see (recently renovated). Dina and her husband have a depth of experience in Africa and exchanging stories with them was a highlight of our trip. The hotel is situated on-site with the family home and has a very homey feel to it. The area is very safe with private security.

Everything! The host was super helpful even though we don’t speak French. She cooked delicious meals each night of our stay and it was all very reasonable priced! You can tell they really care about the cleanliness of the place and the rooms were lovely. I also really liked the neighborhood we were in as we could walk around and explore comfortably. Not too far of a drive from the airport either. Money from your stay goes to support the children in the community.
