We can't think of a nicer place to stay! The hostess, Claudia, went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The accommodations were very comfortable and clean. When we wanted to extend our stay Claudia was very accommodating and clear in communication that the unit had been booked a couple of days later but we could stay until then, She is delightful to talk to and her English, although halting, is a lot better than our German. The breakfast was delicious, and Claudia even custom boiled our eggs. If we ever come back to this region we will try to stay here!

The family-run Gästehaus Steinerhof enjoys a quiet location in Nikolsdorf and offers views of the Lienzer Valley Floor and the Lienzer Dolomiten Mountain Range. Very welcoming hosts. Everything was perfect.

Frühstückspension Alpenrose Bed & Breakfast is located in the centre of Iselsberg and situated on the Großglockner High Alpine Road, offering a garage for motorbikes. Free WiFi access is available. Beautiful location, great mountain views (see my picture with the foggy mountains, taken from the room balcony!), an excellent room with loads of space, comfortable and warm. Great facilities, clean and cared for. Very friendly hostess with warm welcome and a totally caring and helpful attitude. Breakfast was wonderful, and we were urged to stock up on food for along the way! Honestly, loved our stay and felt super supported!

Gästehaus Olympia is located directly on the slopes in Sankt Jakob in Defereggen Ski Area and is just a few metres from Brunnalm Cable Car. It offers spa treatments and free Wi-Fi access. We stayed here for 7 days The room was very clean, it was cleaned every day. The breakfast was good and diverse The location was also good, it was just far enough from the main road to not hear the traffic at all. It was very close to a bike rental place. It is about 20 minutes away from the border with Italy (important to plan the border crossing in the xx:00 - xx:15 interval). There was a restaurant/bar within a 2 minute walk or a couple of restaurants within 5-10 minute drives. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of parking spaces.
