Staff cooked very tasty authentic Sri Lankan meals. The internet worked great. A great experience overall. Will definitely visit again.

Offering a garden and garden view, Thomasha Homestay & Tuk Tuk Service is set in Wellawaya, 6.9 km from Buduruwagala Temple and 26 km from Ella Rock. Thomasha was so nice! He offered to get us dinner when we arrived late and surprised us by washing our tuk-tuk! Very comfortable place to stay if you are in Wellawaya.

I had a big comfortable bed, in a nice clean room with a bathroom. I loved the peace and quiet as the place is surrounded by trees so you literally sleep in the middle of the forest. The host Michael is sweet beyond words. The moment I opened my door a mug of fresh hot coffee with some yummy pastries were waiting for me served on the sunny porch. I will be returning that’s for sure. Thank you Michael🙏

Offering a garden and lake view, Lake Front Yala Safari is located in Kataragama, 18 km from Tissa Wewa and 18 km from Situlpawwa. The hosts were very welcoming when I arrived in the night- there was a really nice juice on arrival and the daughter Nithya was helpful in recommending places to visit in Kataragama and in organising a safari in Yala. Meals were great (including take away breakfast during safari), everything was clean and there was AC in the bedroom. There’s also a bicycle to use to get around in. Would highly recommend a night here if you plan to explore Yala national park.

Set in Kataragama, Safari Lodge Yala provides a restaurant and garden views, 2.3 km from Kataragama Temple and 16 km from Lunugamvehera National Park. Complimentary WiFi is provided. Really friendly staff, they helped us with everything, even organising our safari in a better price that the one you can book directly in Yala National Park. Food was okeyish (but we just took fried rice). It’s super close to yala, the room is really nice and clean.

Situated in Kataragama in the Monaragala District region with Kataragama Temple nearby, Dinesh Guest House features accommodation with free private parking. The entire Guests House was super nice. Very closer to the Kataragama temple as well. The owner Mr. Dinesh and his wife were very helpful. We will visit once again to this awesome place. We definitely recommend this guests house.

Offering a garden and quiet street view, Saranga Holiday Inn is set in Wellawaya, 32 km from Demodara Nine Arch Bridge and 9.1 km from Buduruwagala Temple. I loved it. It actually costs more to use the Aircon but I didn't need it, even though it was the hottest time of year and I nap at noon. The hotel is surrounded by a Garden, which keeps it cool. I loved this town, surrounded by lots of pretty rural roads to wander. The staff were really kind and the location was perfect, a short walk from the bus station.

Offering a garden and city view, Hansika Guest Inn is located in Buttala, 24 km from Buduruwagala Temple and 40 km from Ella Rock. Nice room with 2 double beds. The owner and staff are wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Situated right next to the town so easy to get to restaurants, busses etc.
