We were a group of 11, ranging from 7 years old to 73 years old and we really enjoyed our stay at Villa Araucaria. Beautifully maintained gardens with an amazing pool. At the back of the house was a herb garden, fruit trees and vegetable patch. There is an outdoor kitchen, outdoor dining and living area which meant that we spent all of our time outside which was amazing. The main house has 3 bedrooms, bathroom, lounge and another kitchen (which we didn't use). There's an additional building with 2 interconnecting bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and laundry area. We had a fantastic time, the villa had everything we needed, with a hire car we were in easy reach of great beaches, night life and sights. The owners were lovely and very welcoming. They were always at hand if we needed anything. I would highly recommended this villa and we will definitely come back.

This is a superb location for a family holiday to Sicily - the views from the villa are simply breath taking, looking out over the vineyards and down towards Castellammare del Golfo, out across the bright blue Mediterranean towards San Vito. In the evening, the sun sets over the headland to the West and the sky is filled with colour for hours. You could spend your whole holiday just looking at these views (which we did!) and enjoying the incredible infinity pool. Easily the best pool we have ever enjoyed at a villa - clean, great layout with the separate hot tub section and just such an amazing location. The villa itself was kept cool by an excellent air conditioning unit, plus had good mosquito protection. The surrounding area is beautiful to explore, although driving on some of the smaller rural roads are pretty scary! We visited the beautiful Castellammare del Golfo a few times - a great seaside town full of interesting buildings (Chiesa de Madre was stunning) restaurants (Braceria was the best for meat), bars and shops. The evening market was a big hit with our children. We also made it to the Temple of Segesta, despite the heat and recent wildfires - this is well worth the trip as it is a brilliantly preserved Greek style temple and amphitheatre, with amazing views down to the sea. Other places we enjoyed were Lido Le Blond at the local beach, where you can sip a cocktail under an umbrella, and the beach pizza restaurant La Capannuccia which was very reasonable and did a lovely Aperol Spritz. Most importantly we were very well taken care of by Serena and her family who live above the villa - communication via Whatsapp was quick & easy which was great, especially as we do not speak much Italian! Thanks for making our stay so great and for the lovely bottle of wine, we would love to come back another time!

There are plenty of domestic animals around the house and our kids enjoyed playing with them very much. Marisa is a wonderful and open person. She gave us plenty of useful information about what to visit in Sicilia and what kind of local food to try. The location is a perfect starting point for visiting Trapani, Erice, Palermo (through Monreale), San Vito Lo Capo (very beatiful beach). It is a very quiet place in the countryside.
