Oh my! What a lovely place for our family to stay during our trip around Italy! Vico del Gargano, also known as the Village of Love, is a small, ancient, charming village in the heart of the Gargano National Park. It nestles against the Umbra Forest and looks out over the sea and centuries old olive groves. To me the town still belongs to the locals. It's not filled with tourists, but it certainly has all the amenities that one would want to have fun, experience the Italian lifestyle, enjoy incredible food, and relax! There is hiking in the forest, long sandy warm water beaches complete with lounge chairs and restaurants to bring you food, and interesting sights to see in the surrounding area. The online pictures of Villa Moreschi do not do it justice. It is a garden oasis, truly lovely. The grounds are spacious, peaceful and inviting. The villa apartments are large, comfortable, well-stocked, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Several have ocean views. It's an easy stroll into downtown Vico, where you can enjoy great food at places like Tony's Pizzeria, find a bench in the piazza and watch the world go by, or get lost wandering the narrow, winding cobblestone streets of ancient Vico. The owners of Villa Moreschi, Tony and Cinzia, were the perfect hosts- friendly, gracious, caring, conscientious. It is clear that they genuinely want their guests to have a delightful visit. It was especially nice that they offered a choice of the typical Italian breakfast or an American one. There were quite a few of us during our stay, so a large, varied, and delicious spread was put out for us each morning in their gorgeous breakfast room with walls of large windows looking out to the sea. I have to mention that the eggs were fresh from the villa's hens each morning! It was a very special stay for us!

This was a great stay in the historical center of Vico del Gargano. Giuseppe was extremely helpful, the place was clean and nice. The view from the terrace was nice. The kitchen is equipped quite fine, although we were not able to find anything to clean the dishes and the grill is quite basic (we knew that from the photos so we took our own with ourselves). Also, when showering, make sure you put the curtain all together inside or the whole room is full of water.

We stayed in July for 2 weeks and it was without any doubt the most beautiful vacation house we have ever been. We had our 2 old dogs with us who definitely would confirm that too. The garden was huge and 3 times a day a big black dog came for a visit to play with them. Our dogs couldn’t wait for him to finally come. He was beautiful, VERY social and well mannered as all those other dogs were who came into the garden. Thank you Blacky for coming and stay safe! The house is perfectly equipped with all you need… we loved the outdoor shower with cold and warm water. Never used the inside one. We had breakfast on the terrace in front of the entrance and dinner on the rooftop terrace with a just stunning view to Peschici and the ocean. Lot of wildlife in the garden…. Pirols… geckos… lizards… at night we had 3 sweet wild boar babies and her mom exploring the garden. Calenella beach is 13 minutes by car. Long Sandy beach perfectly for swimming. Dogs are allowed. We rented a motor boat in Peschici ( 40 PS without license) which was really fun. Also a kayak close to Matinatella at Michele de Vita ( Facebook/ Apulien Geheimtipps). It was non-of a kind!! You reach cristal clear Bays where you are all alone in 10 min by kayak. Thank you Alessia for that wonderful stay at your house and being there for us whenever we had a question.
