my favourite hotel in lagune, used to be holiday inn but now taken over by different hotel chain. The hotel is gorgeous, beautiful pool, that old glamorous feel with a court yard pool and little gazebo. Parking in the back and big supermarket across the street. Really comfortable rooms. Beach across the street. No daily cleaning which is apparently the norm now in laguna (only on request).

This is a bait and switch. You rent a room through through 14 West and then there is a paper sign that says to check in at a different address. Then your room is at the Holiday Inn next store.

We booked a room at 14 West. They put us up in a Holiday Inn room, referring to it as their "south building". Wrong! The sign on the property reads "Holiday Inn"... the cups in the room say "Holiday Inn"... if we wanted a Holiday Inn room, we would have booked it. This was a bait and switch.

They moved to the old Holiday In. but didn’t change their address. We couldn’t find anyone or get anyone to answer the phone. Finally he answers the phone and tells us to walk down the block and all the signs say Holiday Inn. He acted like he was on drugs and could barely speak straight. very frustrating.

We upgraded to another property managed by Holiday Inns that was across coast hwy on the ocean side of PCH. It was a nice studio place with an ocean view and steps from the beach. Our place had a kitchen with everything you'd need to prepare meals if you wanted to with a stove , microwave and a fridge. For a small upgrade price we got the loft with a kitchen and an amazing view from our front window...couldn't be more pleased with the place.

Good location that is close to a full-service supermarket (Ralphs) which was a plus for us. Restaurants nearby and there's a lot that you can walk to. Covered/shaded parking is also a plus. They no longer staff a front desk at the property, so the staff at the next-door Holiday Inn are the ones to check you in and help you out. They were helpful, and attended to our needs. You have access to Holiday Inn amenities, including pool and laundry.

The food was terrible and the room was out of date and extremely dirty. Old carpeting and chipped paint and old furniture. They actually had an ottoman on our balcony with a softball size dent in it. Soap bar from the dollar store and just the quality of a holiday inn...if that. We could have stayed at the Bel Air hotel for the same price and it’s impeccably clean. Very disappointed as we were celebrating a birthday and engagement. Do better.
