If you want to get away from the crowds at tina’s and halfway house, this is the place to go. Here you can really enjoy the peace and quiet of the gorge and the staff are super helpful. The younger guy who works there speaks good english and will really help with rides and arranging bus travel/bags/etc. The whole family is great and they have the cutest dog in the world - Zhaxi - who loves attention. Tip - you can drive now to a lot of villages on the high trail, so its pretty easy to skip the climb or the descent and either start or end at halfway house and the guy here can pick you up! Either way its still a nice hike but this option makes it a lot easier.

July is an exceptional host! She basically helped us plan the full itinerary around Shangri-La and recommended the best restaurants in few minutes upon our arrival! She helped booking our tickets to Potatso and other places and shared precise location for bus stops and everything. Besides all this, her place is amazing, you feel like home. The rooms are huge and the garden is super bright and welcoming. Room amenities are also great. Her espresso machine was a luxury and the washing machine was a plus! I definitely recommend her place. The location is great.Near the old town and the Main Street. A lot of restaurant nearby. I recommend the Korean restaurant that opposite the hotel. They are good taste. Staff are very helpful.They help us bring to luggage to the 2 floor and there is free luggage storage while we are travel to Yading. There is heater and electrical mattress that is very helpful in the -1 Celsius cold

Great hospitality from the owners. They offer free pick up and drop off at train station service. They were always reachable and helpful. We wanted to do some tours and they helped us arrange 2 tours, with a very good price. The hotel room is spacious with beautiful traditional Tibetan like decors. The bed was huge and comfortable, and the surroundings were quiet. Outstanding location as it is like 5 mins walk from the old town. We could easily access different attractions. Totally recommend if you want to have a real experience of Shangri-la and Tibetan culture.
