AA Homestay was the best homestay I’ve ever been. The owners are very kind and excellent chefs, their fried rice, pumpkin curry and vege jungle fern were the best I’ve ever eaten. They are the most welcoming hosts I’ve ever met in Malaysia. Staying in their homestay was the highlight of the Gunung Mulu National Park.

Rob provided great local knowledge of the park and made a delicious breakfast for us every morning at a time that suited us. Unfortunately Dina was away so we didn't meet her but Rob was a great host and we would definitely stay there again

Brenda and James are very kind and helpful. They make the difference. Nice homestay, simple, feels like home. We used the kitchen and enjoyed the breakfast (10 myr). We appreciated that they made vegan breakfast for us. Brenda is a tour guide. We enjoyed her Deer cave tour. It was very interesting. A must to see and do with her.

Tribal Homestay is a convenient 15 minute walk to Mulu National Park and literally across the street from the Mulu airport. Meals and drinks are available for pay and are very tasty. Their car broke down the day before I got there, but the day after arrival the husband took me to the park office on a scooter to show me where to go, which was very kind.a

Diana is a wonderful host. The food was delicious. Rooms are spacious. Fan ceiling. Beds were comfortable. A 25 minute walk to the Mulu National Park or if a 5 minute ride. They are expanding so expect some construction during the day. Also this is not a luxury stay, but a modest homestay.

The location of this homestay is the best part about it. It's a 2 minute walk from the park entrance while still giving you the feel of being outside of the park. They kept power on the whole time so we could still charge things throughout the day and keep the fans on all night. At nights the rooms cooled down and were comfortable. The bathrooms were shared but we were the only people here so it felt private.

AA Homestay is close enough to the park entrance that you can run home & pick up forgotten stuff! So convenient! Albert & Mary are super friendly and kind, Albert even brought some forgotten items to us at the airport—where else does that happen?? The accommodation is simple (so, no A/c) but the fan works great and bathroom is en suite. I would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay at D’Cave Homestay. Dina, Robert and their friends were very welcoming and staying with them in the evening for dinner together was like feeling at home. Their advice on tours and how to prepare us were really precious. It was an experience that we will remember as one of the best of our trip to Borneo.

The main difference compared to Hotels is the homestay itself. We had nice talks with homestay family and guests. So, we learned a lot about native people, Mulu, Borneo history, Malaysia. It is in the midst of rainforest, therefore nature is everywhere. Impressive!

We loved our stay here for a night before heading into the park for the pinnacles tour. Amazing food and great to chat to our lovely hosts. Everything was so clean and the bed was super comfortable. Great location halfway between the airport and the park and we really appreciated the help with our bags when we walked into the park after checkout!

We loved our stay at AA Homestay! Albert, Irene and Mary are very welcoming and we felt very much at home. The rooms are comfortable and perfect for those heading into Mulu national park, as it's only 5 mins walk. The airport is also very close. Irene and Mary are great chefs, and we stayed for dinner both nights we were there. Definitely recommend!

We stayed at D'Cave Homestay for four nights and had a wonderful time! Dina is a great host! We had so much fun staying there. She prepared nice dinner and breakfast (we especially liked the pancakes!). Dina joined us for dinner in the evening, we had interesting conversations, she showed us a local dance and we did some karaoke. She made us feel like home and helped us organize some tours. Location is in walking distance to the airport and the park entrance which is a huge plus. We will certainly remember our stay here! Thank you Dina!
