Longji Terrace La vie Inn is located in Longsheng in the Guangxi region, 8 km from Ping'an Rice Terrace and around 40 minutes' walk from Jinkeng Rice Terrace. Longji terrace Lavie hotel has great location and the views are amazing. employees are super friendly. the airconditioned rooms are large with balcony, the food is excellent and affordable (menucard has western and chinese and local food), kids like dumplings and french fries. all the other food was delicious. it is easy to walk to viewpoint westhill and also thousand layer terraces. we also went hiking to pingan. we found the houses in Dazhai much cleaner an comfortable than in pingan. the hiking is nice to to. our kids were 12 and 10. we walked 5,5 hours/17km. If you arrive by car/taxi there are two main roads, new road or the road via large parking place dazhai. take new road to hotel, much quicker and comfortable. if you go to Longji, i advice Dazhai and especially the Lavie hotel in Dazhai.

The suite was perfectly located in the quiet village overlooking the rice fields, but with everything you need walking distance away. The terrace was just the most peaceful place on earth and the staff was extremely friendly helping us with all the paying hussle travelling to China as a foreigner can nowadays include if you don't have WeChat.

Located just 31 km from Darongshu Scenic Area, Ron Inn Xingping Hepan Xiaozhu features accommodation in Yangshuo with access to a garden, a bar, as well as a lift. This hotel is located at Xingping Ancient Town, staffs are friendly and helpful, room is clean and nice, toilet bowl seat is heated, hotel lobby is well decorated and served with hot tea, sweet potatoes and tangerine through out the day. At the back entrance is the ancient town street, whereas the front entrance is facing the river and there is a car park there. Breakfast is delicious and you can ask for refill. At the top floor, there is a washer cum dryer, you can use it for free. 10 to 15 mins walk to 20RMB scenic area. Overall, we like this hotel and highly recommended this hotel.

Baike Boutique Hotel is located in Longji Rice Terraces and offers a restaurant. Most of its rooms offer priavte balcony with stunning terrace views. Even better than the pictures! Perfect location. Fantastic and helpful staff. I wish I had stayed much longer than two nights. I can't overhype this hotel!

Just 5 km from Yangshuo, The Giggling Tree is an unique guest house which is located in the tiny village of Little Mountain Gate. The Giggling hotel has great location at the Yulong river. we rented electric scooters to ride along this river. you can also ride to Yangshuo downtown. Kids like the outside swimming pools a lot. they swim twice a day. the large one is 1,40m deep. food is excellent and affordable (chinese and western). kids like the french fries with self made chicken nuggets a lot, we ate other chinese food, all very delicious (salads, eggplant, lemon chicken etc). Employees are very friendly and help with everything. Large rooms have good airconditiing, large comfortable beds (with mosquito nets if needed) and bathrooms are large and very comfortable and stylish. we also took taxi to Guilin (sevenstars park and downtown) and ofcourse we also went to ride boat on the Li river and to dazhai longji rice terraces. Swimming pool was a big suprise and big PLUS.

Offering a restaurant and free bikes, Zen Box House is located in Jiuxian Village, 9 km from Yangshuo city centre. Loved the laid back vibe of the village and the hotel. I was after a retreat from the city and that’s exactly what I got, didn’t want to leave! 老张 is very hospitable - always checking if you’re hungry and then will whip something up in the kitchen. Another guest that arrived said they wanted to hike some of the nearby hills so 老张 was like, ‘let’s go!’ and took us - the entrance is through someone else’s kitchen/back garden so we’d never have got access ourselves. He also mentioned he could take us to places to swim, climb etc. Really love the village atmosphere, everyone knows each other and knows the secret routes/best food spots. Reminded me of my rural village community in the UK. I was able to borrow 老张‘s road bike and cycled to the river to catch one of the rafts, it’s about a ~30min leisurely cycle to get there. There are cycle/foot paths along the river too, so another nice way to experience the scenery. The hotel itself is very quaint. I had one of the Japanese style single rooms and was very happy there, it looks exactly like the picture. They will pre-heat the bed for you in the colder months, nice touch! Water, tissues, towel etc all provided. The toilets and showers are just downstairs, a 10 second walk, and are very pleasant. The toilets are the Japanese ones with heated seats etc. The other helper is also lovely, and she packed my rucksack with fresh pomelo when I set off for my cycle excursion. They grow pomelo etc. beside the house, and also have chickens so eggs fresh too. Loved the rooftop, very zen and great view over the hills. They also have some friendly cats. Will 100% return.
