We had the loveliest time at the Gableview Forest Inn. Satoshi and Elizabeth are so kind and helped us out hugely during our stay. Satoshi is an AMAZING cook. The food was incredible, so I definitely recommend having dinner at the inn! The room was super comfortable, it was great to have our own little kotatsu and the baths at the inn (both inside and the outside one with the forest view) were divine. If we are ever back in Nikko/Japan we will definitely stay again!

Near to bus station (3 mins walk) and Chuzenji Lake Bus Terminal (10 min walk, more bus back to Nikko station). There's also a small local supermarket near the hostel, offering cheap bentos and food ingredients. Owner is a guide, so you can learn more about the environment of Nikko.

Located in Nikko, 2.1 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Sanga Nikko provides rooms with free WiFi access. The property is set 10 km from Kegon Falls and 22 km from Nikkō-kokuritsu-kōen. Would have given 11/10 if that would be possible.

Featuring a garden, Midorian is located within Nikko National Park. The property is around 1.5 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, 8 km from Kegon Falls and a 16-minute walk from Futarasan Shrine. It was very cozy, you could just relax and spend time there in a japanese house like a local - with Kotatsu and all. The owner of the property was also very kind and welcoming so we felt at home!

Featuring free WiFi, Stay Nikko Guesthouse offers accommodation in Nikko. Nikko Station on the Tobu and JR lines can be reached within a 13-minute walk. Free private parking is available on site. The room was impeccable and fully equipped with appliances and kitchen equipment, We were able to buy some premade mean from the nearby supermarket and use the microwave there to heat up our food.

Just a 3-minute walk from JR Nikko Train Station, Guesthouse Sumica offers beds in dormitory rooms, as well as Japanese-style private rooms. It features a shared kitchen and free tea and coffee. Friendly staff lots of great suggestions where to go, lovely accommodation, it was one of my favorite stays on my whole trip. I will stay here when I return.

What a beautiful, traditional Japanese home with the most wonderful host, Hiro-san. He was so communicative before and during our stay, so accommodating with a great sense of humour. He went out of his way to take us to and from the stations, to dinner, etc. Special shoutout to Hiro-san’s gorgeous and gentle doggy companion, Marie-chan. And oh my gosh, the lovely bath prepared for us every evening!! If we are ever in the area, we will go out our way to stay here again. Thank you Hiro-san.
