CanadaWe loved Casa Brenes! Wonderful location close to the cathedral. Great hospitality and delicious breakfast. Lovely rooms with fans. The best thing was the cozy big decks on the second and third floors overlooking the mountains, with egrets, parakeets and other birds flying by!

They offered to clean our room every day, hot water in the showers, clean and well equipped kitchen, WiFi works well. Maria is lovely and speaks perfect English. The staff was super friendly and helped me organizing trips and also how to get to my next stop. The cooked food was tasty and inexpensive. Everything was super clean. They have a garden with herbs snd some vetegables that can be used. The hostel is also part of a schoool, teaching english to some locals and environmental sense to children.
