The Hotel&Hostel Montarina occupies a historic Villa built around 1860, only 200 metres from the Lugano train station. It offers a park with a pool, free WiFi and a limited number of free parking spaces. The hostel exceeded all our expectations. Firstly, it is a great location near the city centre. You can walk into the city on foot. Secondly, it has a cool swimming pool, lots of sun loungers and umbrellas, you can have a good rest after the road. I also liked that the room, although compact, was very comfortable and had air conditioning. Toilets and showers on the floor, plumbing in excellent condition. The staff is very friendly. There are many refrigerators in the dining room, the kitchen has everything you need to cook. We will definitely come back here again!

Surrounded by a lush garden, the Youth Hostel Locarno is 1.5 km away from the train station and the Lake Maggiore. The restaurant serves Swiss and Mediterranean cuisine and packed lunches can be provided. The front desk staff was amazing and super friendly and the bathrooms and toilets were spotless
