The atmosphere was incredibly social and welcoming everyone was so friendly, and there were activities every night that brought people together. A special thanks to Gehan, who was super helpful with all the information I needed. Funny enough, visiting Ella wasn’t even in my original plan I came here on a friend’s recommendation but it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my Sri Lanka trip. Another highlight was meeting Alex, who made the evenings extra special with fun games and a family dinner outing. Most of the games were completely new to me, which made it even more exciting to learn and join in. Everything about Hive Hostel was warm, fun, and memorable. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ella, and I’m already looking forward to going back soon!

Close to train station (walking distance), very clean and delicious breakfast. Sameera was very helpful in providing directions to my next destination. Loved the hammock and other sitting areas.

All rooms have a safety deposit box. Love this place. Been here twice now and it's such good value for the money. The hosts are super lovely and very helpful. Kasun speaks very good English and helps you with whatever you need. Also rented a scooter from his friend to drive through the north. The family also makes a good, cheap breakfast. And the sunrise on the rooftop is fantastic

Sham is a very nice person. All the other staff also, very friendly and helpful 🫶 The place is wonderful, feels like safe and chillful, and so far the best hostel we ever been in Sri Lanka. The food is soooo delicious 😋 You could go for a walk with Marley, one of the cutest dogs I ever met!!

The accommodation provides a shared kitchen and a 24-hour front desk for guests. Really authentic location! Most people access the hostel by walking along the train tracks. It felt very different and never experienced a stay feeling like this. few restaurants 5 min walk (along the train track) from the hostel. You can see the train passing by from the hostel. Location is just absolutely priceless. Good location if you want to do Ella Rock for sunrise. Very social hostel where you can meet many people. Lovely staff and nice breakfast.

The owner Dilan is incredibly accommodating and helpful! The Hostel is a bit remote (although little adams peak and nine arch bridge are in walking distance), but that's not a problem at all because Dilan kindly offered to take me everywhere by tuk tuk. He picked me up when I arrived in Ella and drove me literally everywhere I wanted in Ella throughout my stay. He was available at any time, totally uncomplicated and very reliable! A perfect host! Also, Dilan is too modest to admit it, but he's a great cook! We ate with him every morning (breakfast was included) and evening and everything was delicious! The dorm is very basic and still in process, but absolutely okay for the price!
