A brothel? A speak-easy? A 1920’s French gentleman’s club? It’s colourful and warm yet the portraits and sculptures have eyes that seem to watch. This is a good thing! The decor is truly an artistic curation that transports you to another time. I loved that the entry was self checkin but that there was a number to text for communication. All the amenities worked and the space was clean and well thought out. All the fixtures, hardware and architectural detail are very high end and well constructed. Someone took a lot of time to focus on form but obviously felt function was equally important. I parked on the side street a block away with no incident. I would definitely go back as it’s a smart, cheap way to stay in LA but it’s also an interesting experience. Loved every bit of it.
