The views from the shared space and terrace were great. The host let us keep our bikes in the garage overnight. There were slippers for us to wear around the common area. And the host gave us helpful bicycle route information to save us some extra challenges on our ride.

Located on the East Side of Castle Mount in the Deshmoret e Kombit district, Guesthouse Himaj offers the best of traditional Albanian architecture with modern conveniences. Each newly renovated (2019) room is equipped with air conditioning, a private bathroom and a television. There is a sitting area, and a breakfast room where guests will enjoy homemade and artisan delicacies from the Berat Agricultural region, famous for its olives, citrus and grapes, while enjoying the lush green panorama of the land below. The view from the balcony offers breathaking vistas of the River Osum valley, Spirague and Partisan Mountains. Conveniently located next to pubic transportation, Guesthouse Himaj is also hidden away in nature, on the way up to the castle on a heritage white cobblestone road. The property has an abundance of fruit trees and fragrant flowers, and offers guests a quiet relaxing getaway from the bustle of the city. A short hike to the citadel is available for those who are accustomed to a moderately strenuous walk up the Castle Mount from the Guesthouse.
