Peace and tranquility abounds at Gaddleen Grove where we have two self contained red gum cottages on our 260 acre property The rustic look Cottages, but with all modern conveniences, were established for couples getting away to recharge their battery but have grown over the years for couples with children and also pets. With timber floors and full length veranda adding to the space - we offer all clients a relaxing place in your travels or a longer stay to see what the region has to offer. Views from your veranda while listening to the abundant bird life is magical and if going for a walk kangaroos, echidna, lace monitors and if lucky wallaby can be sighted.
Gaddleen Grove is named after its two creators: Stuart and Noeleen Gadd. The pair bought the 260 acre property in 1996. With no water, power, house or road, Stuart and Noeleen had a “blank slate” in front of them. The property now boasts paddocks, fencing, shedding, roads, dams, an orchard, and the main house. By 2002 both Bluewren and Treecreeper Cottages were complete, each capturing the views of their land and location. In 2020, the Cooper-Cahill family of Josh & Vicky Cahill and Ron Cooper took over the business with great care and excitement.
Wodonga and Albury the neighbour across the Murray River have a vibrant city feel in a country setting. Museums, Art Galleries, theatre and visiting shows and musicians means there should always be something for you to see and do. The High Country or North East Region as the area is know by has 4 distinct seasons. Winter has the snow fields of Falls Creek only 1.5 hours away and then in summer it is great for bush walking. As you travel the picturesque valleys to close by towns of Rutherglen know as the Wine Region or Chiltern and Beechworth with gold history you can enjoy the magnificent country side that has a different appeal through the distinct seasons. All sporting pursuits are found in the region so you could met the locals at any footy code during winter and in summer, autumn and spring you can take a visit to the Hume Weir dam for all sorts of water sports. Fishing in the river and creeks is always possible.
