Peg Cottage is a lovely updated historic cottage on a private property. It has everything one needs for a comfortable stay and onsite parking. The food provided for breakfasts was more than adequate and tailored to our needs.

A quaint little cottage, that was once owned by Mrs Brown and her son Joe. They made Pegs from the willows down by the river in the early 1900's. It sits quietly near the weeping willow tree and flowering garden. Guests are able to wonder freely throughout the garden, maybe enjoy a glass of wine and cheese sitting by the privately owned Water Tower at any time of day or night. Stroll to the main street, see other historic sites along the way. The walk is all paved and on flat ground. Breakfast supplies are left for you;(loaf of bread/mini loaf/milk/ cereals/ butter/jams/ 1/2doz eggs/ bacon or ham.
Romance with a Historic Convict “Water Tower” On our many holiday travels, we fell in love with a Convict Water Tower in Evandale Tasmania. Then a spur of the moment decision to have a “sea-change”; We Bought; We Moved and We Renovated. This magnificent property with its 1940’s home and “Peg Cottage” an acre of botanical like gardens than meander, a magnificent Water Tower which today is kept full of water to reserve the brick structure built by the convicts. As we enjoy hosting & creating that special atmosphere, meeting great & interesting people from all over the world. If you are like us, you too will fall in love the history, warm and friendly people of Evandale and at the end of the day there is nothing better than to relax in a peaceful place you can call home even when you’re away.
Evandale is a historic village with history going back to Convicts/early settlers with interesting selfguilded walks. Hosting the Glover Art Festival. Sunday markets, listen to the jazz band at the Clarendon Arms Hotel indoor fires, outdoor gardens, tables and seating. Come to see the Pennyfarthing Event Evandale. Visit the vineyards, enjoy the food and wine tasting. Simply a gorgeous place to stay, you seriously won't want to leave.
