Yuengee Villas was originally built in the seventies being one of the first holiday let properties in Shute harbour. The location is what makes the property unique, nestled between a boutique bareboat Marina to the east with a coastal reserve, beach and the Shute Harbour marina to the west. The marina is being rebuilt following extensive damage during Cyclone Debbie. On completion, expected in july 2021, the marina will provide restaurants and shopping options within walking distance. Our apartments provide cooking facilities, with full kitchens in Apartment 1 and 2, and a galley kitchen in apartment 4. Most guest do their shopping on the way through Airlie Beach to save back tracking. Being so close to the water and the marina facilities mean that the sights sounds and smells of the activity carry easily to your private balconies. There is fairly constant activity from the small slipway next door, with yachts being cradled out of the water for maintenance and repair. The commuter ferry to Hamilton Island departs from directly in front of the apartment, many hundreds of guests and workers will use this jetty. There are some great walks nearby, Snows Beach is right in front.

We first lived in Yuengee Villa 20 years ago when it was still owned by the original builders. We rented one of the apartments upstairs and lived there permanently. The owner, a lovely lady called Rhada, had become too old to cater for holiday let guests. We fell in love with the property...and dreamed that one day we might have the opportunity to live in such a beautiful location. 15 years later, and Rhada's family decided to sell Yuengee when she passed away at 97 years old. It was a bit run down, and cyclone Debbie in 2017 bashed the place around a bit more! With a bit of work we have cleaned Yuengee up and she is back in the holiday business again! Cyclone Debbie also destroyed the Marina facilities. Recently the rejuvenation works have started which will provide a brand new ferry and port with fuel and restaurant facilities. During reconstruction there will be some noise. We have reduces our standard rates until we feel confident that the woks reach a point where they will no longer be a disturbance. Located a 15 minute drive away from the bustling activity of Airlie Beach, your stay at Yuengee Villas will provide a serene location only a short drive from the activity of the tourist strip. Conway National Park surrounds Shute Harbour with a number of hiking options available. For the boaties, the marina in sight of your apartment has departures for the Whitsunday islands, from Kayak tours, to luxury self drive yacht charters and fast ferries to the island resorts. The Whitsunday Regional Council marina which is to the west of Yuengee Villa suffered significant damage during Cyclone Debbie three years ago. The rejuvenation project has recently commenced which will see major reconstruction of the marina facility, including new wharves and terminal buildings. We expect the new facility to be a fantastic addition to Shute Harbour and the Whitsunday region. There will be some noise on occasion associated with this project. We have reduced our standard room rate during this period of reconstruction.
