Bihac, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is up north and near Croatia...
Bihac, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is up north and near Croatia border. So it deserves a visit, at least for two days. We have visited Bihac for two days and it was so enough to cover Bihac attractions and other surrounding beautiful areas. There are some good restaurants in Bihac such as River Dock restaurant, Emerald restaurant Visiting Bihac city will allow you to visit and enjoy other attractions in other towns such as Travnic, Jajce, eyc, In Travnik you can try Bosnian kabbab at Hari restaurant in the center. In Jajce you could eat in Plivesko jezzero lake, Motel plaza.
Here is ,again , our review of our cottage Flora &Fauna Una, Bihac:
Flora &Fauna Una, BIhac are nice cottages scattered around una river. Our cottage was a clean and beautiful cottage on Una river, Bihac. . It is good for short stay and camping on the river. It is away from hustle and bustle of the city. The place is enjoyable and quiet particularly between 7 pm to 6 am. More or less, the cottage is fully equipped with all necessary and basic needs. The owners are very accommodating, respectful, nice and helpful. Many thanks to Mr. Kamal and Sanad and their family for welcoming us upon arrival and showing their interest to help. Thanks Kamal and Sanad for providing us with microwave. Unfortunately, The cottage we have booked through Booking was not suitably fit my family of 5 adults but nicely suitable for small family ( two couples with one or two kids). To improve the quality of the property, It would be more nice to add Oven/stove, microwave and washing machine. The sink in the bathroom is small and better to change it by a bigger one. Putting sign at the entrance to make it easy to find the place

Beautiful scenery along the riverside in the town.
Beautiful scenery along the riverside in the town. National Park Una is nearby but you can only explore more if driving. Otherwise, only limited spot can be reached by public transport like us only visited Štrbački buk, the big waterfall by taking bus and walk 2 hours 8km to the waterfall and return the same in total 4 hours 16km. We could not found any local tour in Bihac for National Park Una and have to give up another major spot, Martin Brod which is 12km away from the final bus station at Kulen Vakuf.

To be honest we only came to Bihac, because it was comparably cheap to sleep there, for visiting the Plitvice lakes in Croatia.
One main drawback of staying in Bihac and visiting Plitvice is the Bosnian / Croatian border crossing. Expect lots of waiting time, something we overlooked on our part. On average we would wait for 20 to 30 minutes per crossing, which can result in a lot of stress if you booked a specific time slot for visiting the lakes.
Bihac still has many visible memories from the war, which makes for a grim decor, giving sometimes an eerie vibe to the whole. I failed to feel completely safe during my stay, and I am not sure because of my prejudice, or just my unfamiliarity with Bosnia as a whole.
I fail to really read the people. Some of them were super friendly, others really gave me a vibe like I shouldn't be there, and I really did not like the many men in the street openly eyeballing my fiancé. It gave me a very conservative vibe, which does not inspire me to go there again

This is a good place to start visiting the national parks...
This is a good place to start visiting the national parks close by, but Bihac as such does not really have much to offer. I suspect that might have something to do with the Yugoslav war, where Bihac experienced a lot of action. Once you get out of the center, you start to see some of the damage.

Every time I come to Bihać, I will try to book this place. Everything was perfect. It was close to the center and the facilities were excellent. The hosts were the best part, very lovely people. We came to Bihac for the bicycle marathon and this was the perfect choice for accommodation.

Very nice little hotel, excellent and polite staff and overall good value for a money. Also, I really appreciated fresh fruit and a bottle of water upon our arrival, as well as personalized letter by manager. Very cool.
We stayed at the hotel lobby only for one night. We got 2 double rooms for a very good price including breakfast. Everything was fine, clean, the beds comfy. It was quiet at night. Breakfast very good. We were happy.

New hotel, clean and tidy, without accompanying facilities., very kind lady at the reception, she solved the problem with printing the invoice, which should be addressed to the company
It is a new building with new furniture. There is a mini market in the hotel and fruit shop across the street .They provide
coffee and tea bags but no water bottles .
The view might be the best in all of Bihac. The waterfall is so near that you can hear it in all of the apartment. The apartment was spacious with a huge living room.
