Location was helpful for us as we were walking the GR131 route. Also the staff were great as we wanted to leave very early and would miss the breakfast so they made us a packed breakfast/lunch late that night. Very kind!

We (9 Belgian 60+) stayed for 5 nights in Casa Tajinaste. Catalina is a very kind and helpful host, Vilaflor is a quite place in the centre of Tenerife, not too much affected by tourism, excellent to visit the rest of the island, and it has some good restaurants in the neighbourhood. And the house itself is great, it combines modern luxury with medieval style. Each of the 6 double rooms has its own bathroom. Thus: absolutely recommended (unless you prefer Playa de Americas, Ibiza, etc.).
Boasting a bar and a terrace, Casa Altavista features accommodation in Vilaflor with free WiFi and mountain views. The accommodation is 26 km from El Médano.

The place itself is gorgeous - lovely cottage with beautiful garden full of fruit trees, the pool is super, since the water is heated and you can swim even in colder weather. Perfect getaway with amazing view to ocean.

The location was lovely - half way up El Teide with adjacent pine forests for walking and easy access to the National Park. The village has several good restaurants although they tend to close early. The accommodation is very basic and most rooms have poor facilities - best for a one or perhaps two night stay.
For birders: easy to see canary, blue chaffinch and Berthelot's pipit

Vilaflor is a lovely small high mountain village situated on a steep hillside having several options for accommodation. It appears to be on the main bus route from the coast up into the volcanic caldera of Mount Teide National Park. There are several shops to get supplies. There are a number of restaurants which we found seemed to cater mainly for day travellers, most seemed to close early in the evening giving limited options. There are a small number of friendly bar/cafes, again opening times did not seem to correspond with online opening times, although this may be seasonal. The village is ideal for walkers and cyclists or relaxing, but definitely not a party type destination. It may also cause issues for those with some mobility limitations. Although there are buses and taxis available ideally we would recommend having a hire car to enable travel at most convenient times and for access to the higher mountain areas. We found that all parking areas are free at point of access, but early or late arrival is wise as the parking fills up very quickly. There is a relatively new information centre and museum at the Parador de Canadas Del Teide which has good clean toilets and currently supply a free map of all the local walking trails. For those who wish to remain in the vicinity of Vilaflor itself there are a large number of local walking/cycling trails available

You have to remember that Vilaflor is an active working town at 1500m altitude with extensive agricultural terraces, and only a nod towards tourism. The streets are narrow and many are steep. Most shops and facilities are centered on the lower entrance to the town from the TF51 bypass, but the two lovely churches and tourist restaurants are at the top end of town.

Vilaflor is a lovely little place, a great base to explore the mountains and local trails in the area. It's clean and the people all seemed really friendly. I would advise having transport.
Although Tenerife is pretty good for vegans / vegatarians, Vilaflor is not so progressive. However, the local restaurants all made their best efforts to accommodate when they understood what was being asked for.

Vilaflor is a nice village and it is very close to the national park and this is the reason why we have chosen to stay there. There are many cafes and we loved 'Los cipreses de la casa inglesa' a nice restaurant at the top of the village.
There are also nice walks from the village and if you want to go to the seaside it is only 30 minutes in the car.
The breakfast is really nice. more then enough. Lots of scrammbled eggs during the first day.
Carlotta and her staff are friendly and helpful.
The rooms are tidy and clean.
The spa is very nice and relaxing. They play relaxing music.
The entrance hall of the hotel is super trendy unlike the rest of the hotel.
The lounge at the front and at the back of the hotel (garden) is very nice and well gardening.
We liked the typical Canarian old building. The room 8 was super cosy and beds vere very comfy. Perfect pillows and duvets. The externaal bathroom was ok. The breakfast was good, not much selection but it was enough and a very good coffee.
English ladies who take care of the hotel vere very very nice. We must appreciate a living room where you can prepare a cup of tea or buy some beverage from the fridge.
El Sombrerito is filled with all kinds of vintage tools and equipment, ranging from film projector used in cinemas to mechanical scales and agriculture tools. Great dinner. Accomodation pretty basic, but more then enough for hikers. Really cosy atmosphere.
Beautiful room in traditional Canarian style, spotlessly clean and a big comfy bed. Bliss!
Self check in and out fine for me, anyone booking should be aware. Vilaflor is lovely
