Because my French is poor, I am writing this in English. My husband and I had to arrive in Vannes later than planned by train. Faustine, the lovely concierge at the apartment drove from her home some time away because we were struggling to access the apartment with the digital code we had been given. This differed from that we had been given online by Booking.com. I take full responsibility for the fact that communication was poor in that we had to switch off "global roaming" on our Australian mobile phones and our borrowed mobile number was not in the system. On a rainy night at midnight we were embarrassed but grateful that she came to solve our problem. Our thanks and kind regards to this lovely person and to to owners of this wonderful apartment.

Live in a fairytale setting in the historic centre of Vannes. This one-room apartment offers a magnificent view on the cathedral and the chapel of Saint Vincent Ferrer and of the place Saint Pierre as well as over the roofs of the city. You'll have 38 sqm at your disposal with a fully equipped kitchen and a private bathroom on the second floor of a mansion built in 1602. In 2018, during one year, the whole floor has been entirely renovated and separated into two independent apartments which are linked by the private entry hall. HENRI has a comfortable queen size bed and an extensible sofa (double bed size) and can accommodate 2-4 guests. A TV set, a DVD player and a CD/ Bluetooth are at your disposal, the kitchen is equipped with an oven/microwave combination, a stove and a cooking robot, a Nespresso machine, a french press, an oyster opener and its protection as well as everything you need to prepare and eat your meals. Coffee shops and restaurants are around the corner, the next supermarket is at 150 m. Stroll around the old town and marvel at the old city walls or enjoy the large variety of shops or the pittoresque local market, visit a museum have coffee at the port..
We are a French-German couple with deep family roots in this old French town of Vannes. After many years in Paris, we decided to move back and make this city our home again. We fell in love with these apartments with a majestic view within the old walls of the historic city. We bought them and painstakingly worked with an architect in renovating this place to revive its historical value while introducing modern creature comforts. We want to give all our guests an experience of not just visiting another pretty city in France but also travel through time in history. We have named our apartments Henri and Henriette, after HenriIV, king of France and his daughter Henriette, queen of England, who had found refuge on this street where the apartment stands today. Both were contemporaries of the time when this house was built in 1602. We hope that you will have a memorable stay. ​

Stroll around the old town and marvel at the old city walls or enjoy the large variety of shops or the pittoresque local market, visit a museum , visit a museum or settle for starters on the port..you'll enjoy the unique atmosphere. 3 km further, reachable by walk, a rented bike or by bus/car you can find a cosy beach and an outdoor pool from 1860 in Conleau or you take a boat and visit the golf de Morbihan and its wonderful islands... We are sure that you'll appreciate this gem.
