Perfect for 2 people, this cosy cabin with all the necessary mod cons is situated in an ideal location for walking, cycling, wine tasting, chateaux visiting or just relaxing. Cool in summer and heated by a wood burning stove in winter. Situated half way between the towns of Angers and Saumur (30kms), our log cabin in Ambillou Chateau is within easy access to many beautiful sites and is an ideal base to explore the Loire Valley. Located in the serene gardens at the rear of our (300m2) garden, our cabin is 25 square metres (269 square feet) and is equipped with a sofa, table and chairs, induction hot plate, a fridge, and an adjoining bathroom (separated by a curtain) with shower and toilet. Internet access is available (with or without wifi). Sheets and towels are provided. There is a choice of sleeping area; a mezzanine with access by a ladder, or in the living area where there is a very comfortable sofa bed. During the winter the cabin is heated by a log burning stove (believe me, you won't be cold!) It's well insulated which makes it warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The table and chairs under the pine tree outside can be used for meals in summer.

Hi. I'm Alison Lamy. Since moving to France from the UK in 1993 I have embraced the French lifestyle, especially the art of the aperitif. I am married to Dominique (who's French), and together we have two children: Matthieu and Olivia. Dom is a tree surgeon and carpenter and built the cabin from scratch in the traditional 'fuste' style.

The Loire Valley is a UNESCO world heritage site and is an area of diverse attractions and landscapes that today make it one of the most popular places for tourists in the whole of France. It is probably best known for its architectural heritage, most famously its chateaux. Several beautiful, historic towns, including Angers, Saumur and Chinon, are situated within easy driving distance and are well worth a visit. There is also much to do in the surrounding area during your stay, including hiking, swimming and bike riding, and visiting the numerous impressive attractions which will both entertain and inspire you.
