The gite was originally a stable and has undergone an extensive renovation. Large glass doors replace the original barn doors allowing light to flood in to the spacious entrance hall. The original beams have been retained and contrast with the contemporary oak staircase. The overall feel is a contemporary and spacious property. It's the ideal base from which to explore the key sites in La Manche region of Normandy. It's situated between Mont St Michel and the D-Day landing beaches. Bayeux is also worth of a visit. Closer to home are the beaches, abbeys, cathedrals, quaint towns and villages and food tasting opportunities.

I moved to Normandy in 2014 to undertake the barn renovation project. I live onsite and have loved exploring the local area so I can share my specialist knowledge with you. There are so many things which make Normandy special. The D-Day invasion is such an important part of Normandy's history and there are numerous sites to visit. The amazing Mont St Michel is around a 45 minute drive away. This is William the Conqueror territory so the landscape is peppered with references to him. There are also plenty of abbeys, cathedrals and churches - many built in the Gothic style. Quaint and pretty towns and villages are perfect for a stroll. The coastline is stunning with vast swathes of beach being revealed during the low tides. My favourite places are Mont St Michel, the ruined abbey at Hambye and Coutances cathedral.
