Hotel in Le Mont Saint Michel
La Vieille Auberge is located in the medieval village of Le Mont Saint Michel, just a short walk from the famous Mont Saint-Michel Abbey. You're paying for the privilege of staying just a few minutes walk away from the Abbey, and just around the corner from the main street on Mont St Michel. I enjoyed the beautiful views from my window, very clean room, spacious (and quite luxurious by my standards) bathroom, and the peaceful calm atmosphere in the evening and early morning, outside of 'tour group' times. I felt like it was a privilege for me to stay here so close to this piece of history.

At the foot of the abbey, the Mouton Blanc Hotel, welcomes you in its historic 14th century location. Le Mouton Blanc provides comfortable rooms with a simple yet cozy decoration. It was absolutely fantastic!. We walked through the beautiful, medieval village to get to our room, a little further past Le Mouton Blanc restaurant. From our window, looking beyond the rustic, rooftops we had a slight view (peak) of the bay. The room was clean, bed comfortable and of adequate size for my husband and myself (we were there to sleep and otherwise explore this mystical, magical "like nothing other in the world" place). The room itself had been remodeled, so the interior was modern (that was fine for us, we felt the rustic vibe once we stepped out of the building door). I definitely recommend staying here, our promo included a nice breakfast as well. You can even choose to leave your luggage at the reception area the next day. The shuttle busses worked well. The hotel will give you a gate code to the paid parking lot. Busses run late. Mt. Saint Michel was the highlight of our entire trip!

Housed in a historic building, this hotel is ideally located in the heart of Mont Saint-Michel. The classic-style rooms overlook the bay, the abbey or the medieval city. Absolutely amazing location with Mont St-Michel. If you plan to visit this location and have the time, I would highly recommend staying overnight. You are able to get a completely different perspective during your visit by exploring the area by night when all of the guests have left. We were lucky to visit at a time when the site was not very busy giving us better opportunity to take in and enjoy the sights. The abbey is amazing and well worth a visit. Shops naturally very touristy but there are many cafes/restaurants offering refreshments.
A wonderful historical place. Beautiful views and unusual area. The only drawback is a lot of people. I recommend the hotel by the bridge to Mont Saint Michel because in the morning and in the evening you can enjoy this place when it is empty.
The Mont St Michel is amazing to see, but the people are really not nice. To start with, the persons of the shuttle are not friendly and have not regards for others. Don't ever go to "Auberge de Saint-Pierre" the servers in this restaurant are the same, you feel like you are not welcomed. Very bad food quality, very tourist orientated with nothing professional, no manners and very arrogant. Be careful of their "allergies food list" which is totally inaccurate. The Mont is worth to see and visit, but unfortunately the people working there spoil the charm of this place. Disappointed.
One of the most magical places in the world. It is a privilege just to be there in a place of such beauty and history. Try to go in an off season to avoid the crowds and don't expect too much in the way of great food.
Don’t go to the restaurant attached to the hotel, the maitre de was incredibly rude and unhelpful to us as vegetarians. We were prepared to pay the astronomical prices, we walked out after she informed us she had no vegetarian suggestions- appalling in this day and age , particularly when omelettes are a specialty of the restaurant
Beautiful, historical, yet conveniently modern accommodations. Getting to the island is a little tricky. You have to park on shore and take a free shuttle or a paid horse-drawn trolley, to the island and then hike up the steep cobble stones and stone stairways to your room. Make sure you are physically ready for this as well as bringing all your luggage with you. Once there, it is magical to fall asleep in the shadow of the abbey and then wake up early to a delicious Normandy breakfast and take an early walk along the barracks before the busloads of tourists come to invade the tiny streets.
