Found in the Kintyre peninsula is Campbeltown, a town who once proclaimed itself as 'the whisky capital of the world' due to owning over 30 distilleries, it now owns three and is home to Campbeltown single malts. Attractions include Campbeltown Heritage Centre, the Tartan Kirk, and the 'Wee Picture House'. The bay is surrounded by Davaar Island which can be visited via a mile-long causeway and is filled with sea caves. Nearby is The Mull of Kintyre which was made famous in a song by Sir Paul McCartney, there's also views to Northern Ireland.
