The room was nice and light. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was continental style. Peter, the host, was friendly but a little disorganised.

The property is well positioned close to the centre of Lerwick with ample street parking. It was fully equipped, meticulously clean, the beds were comfortable and offered good value for money. Run as a family business they certainly take pride in their investment and without being intrusive ensure all you needs are met. Excellent accommodation.

Very clean well equipped hostel that did not require us to share our rooms with others. Spacious kitchen and dining room, spotlessly clean all the time. Helpful but unobtrusive staff. Great location in Lerwick fairly close to Tesco and Co Op, close to town centre. Comfortable bunks.

I was in Lerwick during a stretch of unpleasant weather - cold and rainy with strong winds sometimes gusting at gale force. I would not recommend October or probably not winter. I will return, but next time in May or June! The city and surrounding towns are worth the visit. Next time I make the journey I will go to Kirkwall, too,

This is where you need to base if you want to explore the Shetland Islands. We found a great tour guide who took us all the way to the northern end of Unst and with his 40+ year history on the island was a wealth of information. Message me if you want his contact info.
We also did one of the wildlife boat tours which was great!

We very much enjoyed seabird watching tour departing from the small boat ferry port in Lerwick, which is really recommended! We brought a car rented at Aberdeen to Orkney/Shetland by ferries and it was nicely worked. Taking your own car is recommend as the great bird watching and archaeological sites are far away from Lerwick. Unfortunately the puffin season was over when we were in the Orkney/Shetland. I would like to visit again to see puffins!

Lerwick, well known to many people because of the TV series 'Shetland', is a charming town with many interesting features. Most importantly, the people are very friendly and welcoming to visitors, a good thing as during the summer months it is a regular stop off for cruise ships.
The town centre is tucked just behind the sea front and contains interesting local shops, cafes and restaurants. Our favourite was 'The Dowry', which has great food and excellent coffee. Visit Fort Charlotte, take a walk around the Nab for breathtaking views, catch a ferry across the sound to the island of Bressay, peruse the outstanding (and free) Shetland Museum or walk out of town to explore the ancient Broch of Clickimin. Of course, there is also a tour of the locations used to film 'Shetland'.

Lerwick is a great base for shorter excursions around the islands. We could have stayed longer for more hiking and half/full day visits. Shetland has a lot to offer. The nature is outstanding and people are very friendly.
We really enjoyed our tour with Lara Thomason who guided us around south Shetland and took us the the north west cliffs of Shetland. Very knowledgeable and pleasant to hang with. Next time it will be for hiking!

A lovely place with plenty to do.
A lovely place with plenty to do. Those of you who want to relax can enjoy the amazing scenery and wildlife from many locations around Lerwick and even when having a coffee or eating dinner at some of the locations.
nothing it’s a complete dump - arrived reception boarded up no staff - eventually another disgruntled guest gave me a mobile. number to get a member of staff over - eventually arrived - my room had been taken - showed me another and went to get towels and a room key and never returned - terrible and unbelievable price - this is not a hotel and should not be advertised as such it’s a rip off diss house for contract workers - who all hate the place - it’s a bad joke - shameful - I’m expecting a full refund but good luck with that
Pleasantly surprised that keeping rooms warm is a thing in the Shetlands.
Warm room, simple but hot reliable shower.
Very nice. It's not like a modern hotel but felt cozy.
Like staying at your Gran's but better. Breakfast was lovely and so was the lady who serves it. She gave us lots of nice conversation and helpful advise.
I also like that the other tourists who stay here are totally not like the brits you find in Alicante
The breakfast area is a place to hear interesting stories and pick up tips of where to go.
I was on my own on a work trip.
I felt safe, warm and comfortable.
My colleagues were all in the harbour on a boat but I had to be onshore. Great WiFi for working and a lush bed for relaxing.
A beautifully presented apartment with everything you’d ever need and more.
I cannot fault this accommodation in anyway.
I need to come back in 2024. Unfortunately it’s all booked and I’m at a loss as nothing in Lerwick compares.
Gutted.
This hostel was excellent, great value for money, very clean, all required facilities. Above all the manager was so friendly and helpful - what a difference that makes to a stay. Would highly recommend to families looking for reasonably priced, spacious and clean accomodation in Lerwick. We have a three year old and she loved it, excellent park and swimming pool nearby.
Breakfast at the Grand was EPIC! The team who work there are second to none, nothing was too much bother and we felt like we had joined their family by the time our stay came to an end. If you ever get the chance to stat in this grand old dame of a hotel and receive some most genuine hospitality, don't hesitate!
Very comfortable, well furnished and excellently equipped. Convenient town centre location (but quiet, even on a Friday night) communication was brilliant, and good value for money. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again next time I’m in Lerwick
Excellent host. For a UK guesthouse, it was in exceptional physical state and cleanliness. Convenient central location. Lerwick has a beautiful historic downtown which hasn't suffered from the blight of pebbledash stucco like other parts of Scotland.
The location for Lerwick is brilliant. The bus stop just outside of the hotel (we got the bus south to Sumburgh Lighthouse). Easy walk to Tesco's if needed, and the port not too far.
Breakfast was delicious, good atmosphere and didn't feel rushed.
Amazing B&B in the center of Lerwick, close to everything. Clean and newly renovated. Room was spacious and comfortable. Lynette the host is fabulous very knowledgeable about the area and really welcoming. Will definitely go back.
Everything! The owners and staff were warm and friendly, our room was large, comfortable and well-appointed. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious. Our four night stay was the highlight of our two week visit to Scotland.
What a lovely place to stay!! Staff were wonderful. Breakfasts were generous and very nice. Music was good! We enjoyed the ferry back and forth to Lerwick and the costs of this were reasonable.
Great location in Lerwick.
Clean and well equipped.
Heating, bathroom, kitchen excellent.
Storage in bedroom excellent.
Lounge space small but functional.
