This wee cottage was a Gem of a find. For me the location was a priority, I wanted to be close enough to visit family in Maud, but not too close😏. The distance to the village is 2 miles, an 8 minute drive or you can hop the fence and walk the old railway line, a pleasant 40 minute walk to the center of the village. The cottage is at the end of the Farm road (no through traffic) and surrounded by fields, with great views of the hills. The cottage is nicely decorated and super clean. A well appointed kitchen with everything you need for a weekend stay. The bedrooms are a good size as is the lounge. Ps. The shower was good too.

Honeysuckle Cottage is set in the beautiful rural Aberdeenshire countryside on our working family sheep farm. It has been fully renovated and furnished to a high standard with open views over the rolling countryside and in a peaceful location. Honeysuckle Cottage is a 2-bedroom traditional semi-detached cottage sleeping up to 4 people. Ideal for people visiting the local area on holiday or for work commitments. We welcome families with small children and can provide a highchair and travel cot. Features: • Sleeps: 4 people • All on one level • Free WIFI, electricity, oil central heating and parking • Bedrooms: 2 king sized double bedrooms, hairdryer • Bed linen and towels included in rent • Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, toaster, iron • Lounge: SMART LCD SAT TV, large leather sofas • Shower Room: with walk in shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC • Garden: enclosed private garden, patio area allowing for alfresco dining • Shed: to store bikes • Tarred farm road • Double glazing • Outdoor drying area Water is provided by a private supply from a well, that is filtered through a UV filtration system. SORRY: NO PETS & NO SMOKING WIFI is provided, but as this is a rural property, the internet speed will vary.
A wonderful base for a break exploring this beautiful area of Scotland, the views over the rolling Aberdeenshire countryside are quite breath-taking. Maud is a rural village situated in the centre of the Buchan area of rural Aberdeenshire and is ideally placed between the larger towns of Turriff, Peterhead, Fraserburgh and Inverurie. The village itself has a shop, café, gym, petrol station and doctor’s surgery. Mintlaw is a larger town which offers a large selection of food shops, MACBI gym, chemist, dentist, doctors, petrol station along with numerous takeaways. It also has a beautiful 230-acre park, Aden Country Park, which has a large children’s play park with swings, adventure play, seesaw and the popular zip slide. The sensory garden is a secluded area with scented plants designed to stimulate all the senses, an old ruinous country house and long meandering walks with a heritage centre with farming museum and café. We are so blessed to have Buchan Formartine and Buchan Way just a few hundred metres from the cottage, the route follows a former railway line and is ideal for walking, cycling and running.
