Our self-contained Victorian maisonette is in the centre of Buxton looking over to the Crescent Spa Complex. Situated on the 1st and 2nd floors of a Victorian town house, it is a 2 minute walk from the Opera House and Pavilion Gardens. The apartment has been recently modernised but retains its period charm and features. Ideally suited for 2 to 4 adult guests in two bedrooms (sorry - no children). Please note there is only 1 bathroom situated on the first floor and the apartment has 2 staircases, so is unsuited to anyone with mobility issues unfortunately. The apartment is conveniently situated for taking in the cultural events in Buxton during the year. With a lounge/TV room, a separate study/reading room and a kitchen diner - there is space for guests to socialise together or have quiet space apart when needed. Access to a cellar laundry space with washing machine, tumble drier and a second toilet is also available for guests if needed. (The Crescent View apartment can be rented/connected with our ground floor rental - The Luxury Apartment - which sleeps a further 2 adults and has a free parking space in front of yard gates)
We love walking, cycling, swimming, music, eating out and visiting the theatre (and drinking pure spring water) so Buxton was the perfect place to move to 25 years ago. We think Buxton is a great centre for all these activities and our apartment is brilliantly situated right in the centre of town to access them. We have been running The Luxury Apartment - our property on the ground floor of the building - since 2019 and despite the difficult times we have all been through in the last few years we have enjoyed the experience of being hosts here in Buxton. It is a great town with so much culture and interesting architecture, green spaces and history. We even have our own sightseeing tram to take visitors around the town - which stops at the bottom of our road. The surrounding Peak District is on your doorstep here with so much to see and do. We will leave maps of the area and suggestions for walks and days out that have been tried and tested over the years.
We are just off the marketplace on one of the oldest streets in Buxton (Hall Bank) which overlooks The Slopes, The Old Hall Hotel and the Georgian Crescent - which is now a fabulous spa complex opened in 2021. The famous Buxton spring water well is at the bottom of the street and the Opera House and Pavilion Gardens are a 2 minute walk down Hall Bank. We are ideally placed for the cafes, bars, shops and restaurants on the marketplace and in the Pavilion Gardens, Cavendish Arcade and Spring Gardens. The amazing Buxton Dome can be reached in a couple of minutes and tea can be taken in the Palace Hotel just up on the hill. Everything is within walking distance from our front door, including a pay and display car park, taxi rank and bus stops. We don't have private or on road parking for Crescent View guests unfortunately, but the market place car park is 25 metres away and free parking can be found on the other side of the park on Burlington road - a very pleasant 5 minute walk away.
