We have a victorian frontage but the exposed internal stone work is 16th century and you may find small pieces of mortar and rock debris on some upper chimney surfaces. *Due to the steep stairs and Japanese bath the house may not be suitable for older guests*

Moretonhampstead is a historic Devonshire market town nestled in the northeastern part of Dartmoor National Park, 14 miles/22km west of Exeter. Given town status in 1207 by King John, it has the feel of a village with all the amenities of a town. There are plenty of walks, hikes, climbs and rides but you need only walk a few seconds from the house to sample the local hospitality. You'll find all the town has to offer within easy walking distance. Food and drink is seconds from the house whilst the seasonal heated pool is just a 2 min stroll. A minute's walk up to the church or down Lime Street starts you on a pleasant 40 mins circular walk northeast of the town. A km further takes you high up onto Mardon Down where you'll see great views of the town and the moor beyond.
