Built in the late 1870s, this imposing Victorian building is set in 3 acres of picturesque countryside only 5 minutes from the centre of historic Tain.
The Mansfield Castle Hotel offers award-winning cuisine and magnificent oak panelling throughout. It is one hour from Inverness Airport, and is positioned in the heart of the Highlands. Mansfield Castle is a perfect venue for weddings, a short break or for golfers.
Superior rooms are located in the castle and standard rooms are located in the beautiful garden wing, attached to the castle via a corridor.
All guests are welcome to use the gorgeous residents’ reading lounge.

Host Information
Mansfield Castle will reopen on the 15th July 2020. Accommodation is available for key workers only prior to 15th July 2020. Room only basis. The Mansfield Castle is just 5 minutes from the centre of the historic pictish town of Tain(1066). Home of Glen Morangie whisky,you are able to stroll around the this friendly highland town at any time of Day. The Castle originated from a family involved in the Tea and other goods from the Indies. The Food is mainly local sourced and cooked seasonally to order by our team of professional chefs. We have golf courses a plenty,with the local Tain course designed by OLD Tom Morris. Tain is ideally situated to tour the northern highlands,with the farthest points on the map, no more than 1 1/2 hours. The Hotel has superior rooms mainly in the castle part of the building and standard rooms in the quiet garden wing. Dont miss an opportunity to visit this historic and welcoming area.
The Hotel is hands on privately owned and run in conjunction with its sister hotel in Tain. Morangie Hotel Tain. Both hotels are jsut 10 minutes apart.
Tain is a small safe town for the whole family. Founded in 1066 it has retained its granite buildings and quaint look. Just 1 hour from Inverness airport, it has rail and bus connections. You can wander at any time if day around its historic streets . We have a number of famous golf courses and distilleries all within a short distance. The local Tain course designed by Old Tom Morris and of course just 10 miles away,the famous Dornoch golf course.
