Apartment Chic, hotel in Barmouth

Apartment Chic is set in Barmouth and offers a garden. Guests staying at this apartment have access to a fully equipped kitchenette and a terrace.

The kitchen was well equipped with pots and pans, culinder, bottle opener etc. The apartment block was nice and quiet and we didn’t have to share the outdoor communal space with anyone. The tv / Netflix worked well. There were books / dvds / games / buckets and spades to borrow. It was literally a 4 minute walk to the town, coming in at the Co-op side and a 5 star chippy. There was ample space to park on the ride.

I've been coming to Barmouth since I was a child, and my father visited with his parents and siblings from the early 1920's. Now bringing my own grandchildren here, it's definitely our "happy place". Whilst the front end of the beach (nearest the Harbour) has sand-dunes, the farther end of the beach is flat, beautifully clean, and great for sandcastles - with the water within easy reach if you want a paddle or a swim - and there's a lot of it to explore! There is a small fairground for little ones, and an amusement arcade (if the weather's wet), but also a lovely range of shops in the town if you just want a browse. Lots of foodie outlets too - with Davey Jones' Locker, and The Last Inn (both on the harbour) being the best places for good food, and an amazing view across the estuary to the mountains. Just across the water is Fairbourne, which can be reached by regular boat trips from the harbour, and once over there you can take the miniature railway into Fairbourne itself - again, with a lovely beach, and with a pony riding/trekking stables just up the road if you want to enjoy a guided ride along the beach and through the local fields. Above the town is the Panorama mountain range - if you're feeling like a bit of hill-walking - and the view from the top is breath-taking (young children can manage the walks easily if you want to introduce them to a bit of nature exploring). There's also an RSPB site around the coast going South (Ynys Hir - visited by Springwatch), and to the North is Harlech with it's castle, and the Ffestiniog Railway up into the mountains. Tourist Information at the train station will have more details on all of these options. All in all - it's got something for everyone, and we love it!

Great hotel we stayed in "The Royal" highly recommended.

Great hotel we stayed in "The Royal" highly recommended. Several lovely places to eat and drink as well as a lovely beach. Great place to go for a relaxing time, especially if you like walking. The town itself is looking a bit tired but and aged, however we have been their several times and still enjoy it for what it is.

Beautiful harbour next to a large, clean sandy beach.

Beautiful harbour next to a large, clean sandy beach. A long promenade for gentle strolls and the walk across the bridge is a “must”. Lots of quality restaurants and cafes…and, of course, gorgeous ice creams from Knickerbockers

    Great seaside town.

Great seaside town. Train station is right by beach and town centre. Plenty of parking is coming by car. Good beach by town centre, lovely harbour. Plenty of beach further along over the sand dunes and pebbles. Long prom walk. Town has loads of shops, cafes, great pubs and restaurants. Funfair for younger children. Good walking and transport links to surrounding areas.

Really nice room, well thought out with everything you need for your stay. Exceptionally clean, lovely modern bathroom with pretty toiletries, staff all lovely. The fridge was a great touch, iron and ironing board, it is so refreshing that someone has put so much thought into the things that make a stay away from home stress free, they even provided bowls, blankets and dog treats which we really appreciated. Walking distance to everything. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we ever visit Barmouth again.

We stayed for 3 nights mid October, it was right on the beach and central to all amenities for adults and children. If we went to Barmouth again we would go back to Môr Wyn. The hotel was at the end of the parking zone so we were able to park for free at side of hotel, although I guess it you went in middle of holiday season you would find it harder to find a space.
