Company info

The cottages are at the centre of an 1,350 acre working farm. Set in a secluded valley, we grow a range of arable crops, including wheat (for distilling), barley (for animal feed), oats (for milling), OSR (for cooking oil) and vining peas (for retail). The views therefore look different throughout the year; from ploughing and bare ground in the early autumn, to lush green fields in the spring and early summer. In the late summer the cereal crops turn golden and at harvest time the fields will be dotted with bales.

A warm welcome is waiting for you at Press Mains. A family-run working farm, we aim to provide our guests with a home-from-home from which to explore the many attractions of this coastal part of the Scottish Borders. Open all year round, our 4 star self-catering farm cottages are well-equipped and comfortably furnished with stunning views across a secluded wooded valley. Inside the cottages are cosy and welcoming. They are heated by our biomass heating system and all have wood-burning stoves or an open fire. Outside, each cottage has a private garden making them ideal for dogs and children or for those who simply wish to listen to the birds and enjoy the peaceful rural setting.

Neighborhood info

There is a vast choice of things to do and see in the area. From the dramatic coastal scenery of St Abbs and Coldingham, to the historic walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, all are within a fifteen minute drive. With good access to major road links, guests can also easily explore Edinburgh to the north or Alnwick to the south, and all the attractions of the wider Scottish Borders and North Northumberland.
