In the charming village of Bamburgh, The Sunningdale is just 5 minutes’ walk from a magnificent castle and scenic coastline. Wonderful, family run hotel with very friendly and kind staff. Excellent location close to the castle and delicious breakfast with lots on offer. I loved the decor of my room and I was on the top floor with big windows and a beautiful view of Saint Aiden's Church and the sea behind. You can walk for miles on Bamburgh Beach with fantastic views of the castle. If visiting Bamburgh again, I would definitely choose to stay again at the Sunningdale.
Pintail Apartment is set in the charming town of Bamburgh and within 15 minutes’ walk of the beach and 11th-century castle. It offers a modern, well-equipped apartment with free WiFi throughout. Excellent location and large apartment that is very well equipped. TVs in all rooms and good Wi-Fi. Host was great at communicating with us and a simple keypad entry system made for a hassle free arrival.
The castle is set in a stunning position. The beaches you look down on from the ramparts are beautiful - huge stretches of clean golden sand totally uncommercialised. We stayed in the village 5 minutes walk from the castle, which was a lovely location. The Grace Darling museum is well worth a visit.
Bamburgh is a beautiful little village with quaint local shops and houses, it has really nice feel to it and a large village green right in front of the amazing castle where you can sit and picnic. Five minutes walk will take you to the long sandy beach where you can take a leisurely stroll and admire the view of the sea and the castle, especially some spectacular sunsets if you're into photography.
this tiny hamlet was so very charming! it was beautiful. the castle and beach were a dream! very relaxing, makes you want to stay forever! loved it!! bamburgh is very walkable. unfortunately, the hotel food, and pub food that we ate was awful to moderate, nothing more. that was the only fly in the ointment!
General provisions type of shop would have been very helpful. Lots of ice cream and tourist stuff, but it would have been good to be able to stock up on some groceries for our onward journey. The castle was well worth a visit and the beach is the best I've ever been on! So fabulous and the water so clean, pure sand from the dunes to the water line! Church was lovely too, such a wonderful old building steeped in history.
Bamburgh is always a favourite destination for us.The beach is just glorious in all weathers & the sight of the castle as you approach the village is second to none. There are plenty of little cafes to visit & a choice of hotels. We ate in the Brasserie at The Victoria. The menu is vary varied & prices, although not particularly cheap are competitive for this area. Our meals were delicious. Its just important to take a selection of clothing for all weathers as it can change so suddenly on this coast.
Bamburgh Castle is breathtaking. The views out to sea are superb and the walks over the dunes on to sands which are silky soft, make this a place to visit time and time again. We dined at Warren House Hotel, Warren Mill and also the Victoria Hotel Bamburgh. Both very different, but highly recommended. Bamburgh is close to lots of other superb locations, such as Lindisfarne and Seahouses, together with numerous other places inland for castle lovers!

The food was very good. We had a lovely dinner which well above what might have been expected. Breakfast was also good. Room was comfortable and we slept well. Place has a nice garden. Hotel is close to Bamburgh and only 12 miles from Holy Island.

A beautiful location, near to Bamburgh Castle, pubs and restaurants. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We would have liked to have extended our visit however the hotel was fully booked.
