Bamburgh
Boasting garden views, Poppy Cottage offers accommodations with a patio and a kettle, around 16 mi from Lindisfarne Castle. Efficient instructions were given re how to get in using the key safe. Sensible anti-covid measures in place. The cottages feel as though they are in the middle of nowhere – most of the time, all you can hear is birdsong and the sound of the nearby brook – but it is only a 5 minute drive into Bamburgh and about 10 minutes to Seahouses (where there is a Co-op). I sat out on the little terrace in the gloaming one evening and watched bats fluttering around catching insects. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable, with a very comfortable bed. Northumberland itself is absolutely beautiful and there’s loads to see and do and lovely walks.

Lovely walks through sand dunes to extensive walks along the beach. Bamburgh Castle definitely worth a visit... very nice place to stay.. Victoria Hotel excellent accommodation, if you just want to eat there, booking is advisable.......Seahouses 10 minutes along the road and not far from Holy Island.
The Victoria hotel was near the castle and the lovely beach. We ate at the hotel restaurant which was satisfactory but expensive .Bamburgh was a great place to stay and it was easy to get to other lovely places. Look forward to going back soon.
this tiny hamlet was so very charming! it was beautiful. the castle and beach were a dream! very relaxing, makes you want to stay forever! loved it!! bamburgh is very walkable. unfortunately, the hotel food, and pub food that we ate was awful to moderate, nothing more. that was the only fly in the ointment!
Nothing negative to say it is worth the trip, you have Holy Island a 20 min drive north and sea houses 10 min south with great island trips to expand the lovely Bamburgh. The castle is superb and can take a half day out of your trip if you have a picnic and take your time to soak up the history. The people are super friendly and the beach is amazing
Cottage is lovely, comfortable and Inviting. The lane leading to it is very narrow, twisting and potholed. Bamburgh is very quiet, several pubs and restaurants but very few shops. The castle is its main attraction and is well worth a visit. The beach looks beautiful but is inaccessible unless you are fit enough to clamber across a long stretch.of dunes. I wasnt so didnt get to the beach.
A beautifully quaint village spoilt by the current problems associated with Covid etc. Ate out at Lord Crewe -they are struggling with managing social distancing for diners. not very well thought out - Food good. You don't need your car when in Bamburgh. you can get everywhere on foot. Close to beach and all interesting feature. See the castle - but beware they let in too many people at once and you're restricted a lot with distancing etc. - Pre book is advised.
The staff were particularly friendly and helpful. All the meals we had in the restaurant both dinner and breakfast) were excellent. The room was spacious and very comfortable.
