We usually come to London between Christmas and New Year and it’s lovely but this year was extremely busy so we couldn’t do as much. We gave up on madame tussauds even though we prebooked our tickets as the queues were 3hrs long! Instead we got a cab to Covent Garden where we ambled around listening to street opera and magicians which always make it worth going there. This time we visited a restaurant called Tuttons and only waited 10-15 minutes for a table for five so pretty good. Beautiful carpaccio starter but I chose badly the main course and should have kept it Italian! They make some lovely cocktails which I recommend! Cable cars over the river were a thrill as they’re much higher than we imagined. Our accommodation was the Sunborn Yacht Hotel at Canary Wharf which I’ve reviewed also. Fantastic place to stay instead of a normal hotel and will return for a romantic weekend next time, leaving the rest of the family at home 😆. The only way to travel is by cab as they know everything and you rarely get ripped off especially if it’s a real Londoner driving. River taxis are also a great ride for sightseeing and they certainly do move fast. Of course everywhere you go there is something to see especially when it comes to beautiful architecture through the ages. The new Lego store is awesome!!! All in all a great visit.
The hotel overall was good. Room was small but it seems like ALL rooms mostly are limited in space but we were able to move around comfortably. For my first time in London it might have been far from the major tourist areas and it was always a 20 min metro ride but it was walking distance to Notting Hill. The neighborhood its in is really nice and quiet so sleep was great.
What a treat to visit London and enjoy the sights. So much to see and do. When the sun is shining, London is alive with people enjoying life in the city. To see such a diverse city of culture, food, shops, entertainers and people is exquisite. London is a must to visit .
Our stay would have been excellent but unfortunately the air conditioning was not working I told the hotel our room was stiflingly and the only thing they offered was a fan which made little difference, the single window was secured shut we were told it was for safety reasons, My family shared the quad room 559 we got very little sleep due to the fact the temperature of our room never dropped below 27.3 degrees and at night was 28 degrees. On checking out being asked how was our stay when I started to explain the manager was in the background and quickly disappeared (so unprofessional) the person on the desk apologised but no offer of discount or any gesture of goodwill, I was flabbergasted and to tired to complain .
London is amazing! It’s also huge so get your walking shoes on, there’s so much to see and do. If you don’t fancy the underground and it’s a lovely day, you can walk everywhere. Head down to the Embankment for gorgeous views of the river and great restaurants.
Here are some tips from my own experience. Get a rain jacket and an umbrella (always) Be prepared for wind, rain and cold any time of the year. Get familiar with the train-tram-bus and underground network and planning. Uber is used widely and is a good alternative to taxi Use a bank ATM to get currency. In London everything is expensive to almost any other European city. (with a few exceptions of course)
I chose this hotel because I had to take the Heathrow Express train at Paddington Station early the next day. The hotel is extremely convenient to Paddington Station --- just a few steps away. The staff people were very pleasant with helpful attitudes. My room was of a good size --- larger than in most London 3 and 4 star hotels. The room and bathroom were clean and modern and had a pleasant modern décor. My room was quiet, facing the side or back.
This hotel was fantastic.i found all staff front office, restaurant, Housekeeping all. Fantastic. To he location is brilliant close to London , Hyde park as Nd as lol transport links . Don't hesitate if it you won't a nice hotel at a good price nice staff ,Hilton you should be very proud of these staff .I work in the industry and am happy to tell people how wonderful your staff and hotel is .thanks very much .Gary room 473 dep 5,8 ,21
If you are a solo traveler looking for a convenient place to stay in London, then this hotel is for you. I stayed here for a couple of days and liked how close it is to the Paddington Station. You can take Heathrow Express to Heathrow Airport and viceversa from this station. There also good restaurants near by. The staff is friendly and always willing to help you with anything.
A unique hotel with rooms, each with its own personality. It's like staying with family in a country house right in the center of London. Well located for restaurants, shopping, sight-seeing etc. Highly recommended. If you like large chain hotels, this is not for you, but if you like quiet, private, elegant rooms and personal service, this is a must.
Though i stayed many times before in much more fancy hotels than Park Grand London Kensington, I consider this hotel among the best. Everyone working in this hotel is respectful including the manager, who came out of his office to inform me they will give me bigger room with street view, when he came to know that this is my request.
Large, clean room in a perfect location for London exploring and trains. Cheaper than the Premier Inn and significantly larger and more comfortable, so I worked from there in the morning rather than head to the office straightaway. Easy transfer to City Thameslink or Blackfriars, and very close to the sites at Bank or Southbank.
I booked a triple room (just to avoid a tight single room) which was right at the front on the ground floor. It’s rather tired in general and a bit outdated like many of the hotels in London that are affordable. Location is excellent and cheap enough with an English breakfast included.
Camden, London
Great location in Bloomsbury, next to nice park and quieter area, still close to all the action in London. I've stayed in small hotels in the area, this is cheaper if less atmospheric. Breakfast is decent, and lots of shelf space in room.
Camden, London
Brilliant location for St Pancras and Kings Cross station. Room was as advertised, a basic single room and cheapest I could find in London on those dates. It's not a luxury hotel but it did the job as a place to sleep for one night.
Great location - Right near shopping centres / city life , restaurants/bars etc . Cheap weekend rate compared to most if not all hotels across London rated 3 star and above 24:7 reception service LED lighting
Kensington and Chelsea, London
The situation in London was good. One underground station very near incl. Piccadilly line. Both cheap and not cheap restaurants around. The big museums in walking distance. Many hotels around, too.
Camden, London
The apartment was perfect and I enjoyed my stay there. We normally use a hotel but wanted to have an alternative for our colleagues visiting our London office.
Very nice room with lots of nice touches. Good to see the mini bar filled, not the case in some other London hotels. Will likely stay again.
The location couldn’t be beat. And it was a very large room compared to other London hotels I’ve been in.
Location was good. But I know London and selected the location. My mistake was booking with Z Hotels
Just very smart, not what I've experienced before with cheaper London hotels.
The vibe , one of my best hotels in London
The staff Anna, Ahmed and Annetta made sure that our stay was the best possible! They were professional, courteous, accommodating and made sure every detail was taken care of. Ahmed cooked us a delicious made-to-order English breakfast every morning and front desk staff Anna and Annetta were amazing.
Breakfast excellent, most welcoming and helpful staff. Excellent location.
