Shangri-La The Shard, London, Royal Lancaster London, and Blackbird got great room view-related reviews from travelers in London.
London has beautiful sights worth seeing, Buckingham palace and the Big Ben are amazing!! There are plenty of restaurants and pubs to go as well as a vibrant night life. The down side for me was the litter, I was really suprised at how much rubbish was left on the streets. It was very off putting at times. I witnessed people just dropping there trash and it was such a shame.
GOOD - Best location near Trafalgar Square, near the west end, Westminster and the Thames. It was very nice to walk in the lovely parks near by, & visit all the attractions. We highly recommend "Mildred" for vegan food. Every dish is a delight, The public transport was very efficient, although crowded at time. We paid by credit card every where. Almost no cash is needed. BAD - Very very pricy theatres and some of the known shows were ruined by a some-what "arty/farty" productions. What happened to this industry?
London has a vibe that just can't be beaten. Lots of history and charm. Granted it is expensive and traffic at the centre of the city can be a nightmare (especially if you are as crazy as I am and attempt to drive there). Staying in central London (stayed in an apartment in Piccadilly that was great) has the advantage of being close to most of the key attractions and saves you commute time. You are also close to lots of shopping. Recommendation - do have it on your bucket list if you don't already. When you go, pace yourself and don't be in a hurry to do all the touristy things in a day or two. Give yourself time to wander and soak it in. You will find your self returning again and again.
We stayed in London for four nights when we initially arrived in Europe, and returned for two nights before departing from Europe. We loved the people. They were very helpful and friendly. There is also so much to do. There are many great restaurants within a five minutes' walk from the hotel. We are vegan and our favorite was Masala. While we were there we visited the Natural History Museum, the Panthenon, and the Tower of London. However, I was surprised and disappointed that I needed to schedule visits on line with most places in Europe. It prevents a more easy flow, unless you have a lot of time.
A great city, with a lot of everything: history, art, architecture, food, shopping. As every big city is very crowded and busy. Make a good plan before you go, book as much as you could, you won't be disappointed!
Just amazing, allow plenty of time to meander and get lost amongst the streets, there is almost always something interesting going on. We visited on a bank holiday weekend and the city was a busy as it can get. Borough Market was the highlight and would recommend visiting during the week rather than the weekend, although multiple trips, everyday even, would not be out of order. Camden Market was forgettable, jammed with people for no apparent reason. People watching was excellent though. Contactless payment makes getting around London easier than ever, just tap your phone, everywhere, you can actually get by without physical money. Be sure to use a credit card or bank card that will not charge you a foreign transaction cost. Check with your credit card provider on this detail. Other than that, explore, explore, explore.
Fantastic location - close to so much, yet a shelter from the craziness of Covent Garden and Soho. We loved the Coral Room for coffee and a drink and the downstairs bar for a couples’ nite cap. We also had a delicious dinner at the pretty Dalloway Terrace. Lovely hospitality from the staff in all of these areas as well as the doormen. We wanted something understated for the family since we prefer a relaxed, low-key atmosphere than one can get in many of the 5-star London hotels, and it delivered on that level.
Kensington and Chelsea, London
What we really liked about this hotel is the magnificent design of every single detail from entrance to the rooms design to the other facilities in the hotel. The hotel overall is super clean and taken care of, so when you enter the hotel, you will get the vibes of 5 start hotels and hotel apartments. On top of that, the hotel is located in a very nice area and 5 minutes walk from Undergroung station and sorrownded by all daily needs shops, restaurants and Coffee shops.
Camden, London
This is my second time in this apartment - this time for work. The location is perfect. Direct easy metro access from the airport, right next to both the entertainment and office districts of London. I could walk everywhere. And it is exceptionally well decorated. Someone must live here normally because I have never seen a hotel apartment decorated so expensively. It also has a thousand books!
This is a very good standard hotel available for a reasonable price due to its location in Chiswick. Fantastic rooms, extremely comfortable bed, great bathroom and amenities. Easy access to both Heathrow and Central London for GBP1.75 on the bus out the front of the hotel. Not too far to walk down Chiswick High Road to the main restaurant area. I'll definitely stay again.
Clean, modern in both the public areas and rooms. Considering this is at a Travelodge and Premier Inn budget hotel price-point, this totally blows both of them away for style and delivery. Room was tiny (it is central London) but it was well designed with lots of storage, comfortable bed and small shower but plentiful hot water.
One of the best hotels in London. The location of the hotel is close to all the tourist places and markets. You do not need a car, just walk on foot. The reception team is very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to mr. Aqil. He was at the height of sophistication in dealing. An experience worth repeating.
very comfortable place, good wifi, close to public transit making pretty easy to get into central london when you want, definitely a good alternative to or even an upgrade from a single hotel room if you're ready to pay some more (it's also cheaper than some hotels too especially the high end ones)
Kensington and Chelsea, London
I only stay in London because a train the night before + a cheap hotel is generally the less expensive option. As cheap hotels go this is one of the better ones - basic but clean, and a lovely welcome from George. Also less than a minute from the tube. Would definitely stay again.
Westminster Borough, London
The hotel is cheap and VERY close to Victoria Station. The location is also a few minutes walking from sightseeing points of London, like Buckingham Palace, the Big Ben and London Eye. Its an OK place to stay if you will spent most of your time out of the room exploring the city.
I did not have breakfast at the hotel but ate in the cafe in Russell Square. The room was comfortable and clean. The location was perfect near the Piccadilly line. Easy walk to Soho and west End. Nice cafes. Pretty good value for the price of hotels in London
Tower Hamlets, London
Very modern and clean apartments. The kitchenette has everything you need. Nearby are shops where you can buy groceries. All our requests were fulfilled immediately. The hotel is located a 25-minute walk from the Tower of London and the bridge.
The hotel location is great. less than a minute walk from Earl's Court Station. It was very accessible to London tourist spots and Heathrow Airport via Piccadilly Line. We stayed in quad room and it was spacious to accommodate 4 pax.
i loved the rooms were clean and the shower was good - and you couldn't smell dust like you do in most london hotels so that was nice, and no carpetting for me that is great for allergies!
The proximity to Train station and value compared to other hotels for one night stay Access to travel to London Heathrow, without having to book at airport hotel.
CitizenM is one of the best hotels in London - it's so comfy and wonderful. Also so centrally located. I love staying there and would definitely stay again
Good value for money. Great location, and less expensive than Cartwright Gardens hotels. clean, room was decent sized (for London!).
