We usually come to London between Christmas and New Year and it’s lovely but this year was extremely busy so we couldn’t do as much. We gave up on madame tussauds even though we prebooked our tickets as the queues were 3hrs long! Instead we got a cab to Covent Garden where we ambled around listening to street opera and magicians which always make it worth going there. This time we visited a restaurant called Tuttons and only waited 10-15 minutes for a table for five so pretty good. Beautiful carpaccio starter but I chose badly the main course and should have kept it Italian! They make some lovely cocktails which I recommend! Cable cars over the river were a thrill as they’re much higher than we imagined. Our accommodation was the Sunborn Yacht Hotel at Canary Wharf which I’ve reviewed also. Fantastic place to stay instead of a normal hotel and will return for a romantic weekend next time, leaving the rest of the family at home 😆. The only way to travel is by cab as they know everything and you rarely get ripped off especially if it’s a real Londoner driving. River taxis are also a great ride for sightseeing and they certainly do move fast. Of course everywhere you go there is something to see especially when it comes to beautiful architecture through the ages. The new Lego store is awesome!!! All in all a great visit.
The hotel overall was good. Room was small but it seems like ALL rooms mostly are limited in space but we were able to move around comfortably. For my first time in London it might have been far from the major tourist areas and it was always a 20 min metro ride but it was walking distance to Notting Hill. The neighborhood its in is really nice and quiet so sleep was great.
London is an exciting place to visit, there are so many things to see and do in London. There are many eateries and shopping malls, an abundance of sightseeing tours for you to choose from. If you have the chance take a trip to Lindon, you won't be disappointed. I enjoyed Kensington Palace, river sightseeing tour, Big Ben and Hop-on-hop-off buses. Camden market place(very crowded,) we used bolt a few times to get around. They were reasonable. We ate at a seafood restautant. Forgot the name, 5 guys, and our hotel restaurant
London is a great place to come. There's something for everyone - different cuisines, cultures, architecture, history etc. You can't really fit everything in a week. This is my 5th time in London and I still enjoyed the trip. You discover new corners and learn something about London every time to come here.
Loved the convenience and all the variety but London was way too busy for me. Chaotic infact! And not knowing my way round meant use of a lot of Ubers which are fab!! But can be expensive.. Nevertheless we made the most of our trip
The rich history of this very populated city is a must if you like meeting people who are friendly and treat you like you treat them. there are many museums that you can't possibly stroll through in a lifetime. Beautiful architecture everywhere you look. The countryside is quaint. Expensive to stay here and travel around but you'll like it as we have.
The hotel is just around the corner from. Eearl's Court tube station which takes you to Central London and Kensington in minutes. Still it is in quiet surrounding and with beautiful garden. Real oasis in the middle of the city. Proper hotel among many other "hotels" which do not desrve such name. Rooms were clean and nice with all amenities. The hotel is nicely decorated and well maintained. Staff was really professional and always kind and helpfull. Rooms were also with AC which seems to be rare in London...
Hackney, London
I stay in London for work nearly every week and have been trying out many many different hotels and apartments, but this was by far the best. Really easy to get to, really friendly staff, gorgeous decor and the studio itself was very cool. Fab decor, everything I needed to cook for myself and eat at a proper table! It was also spotless and I could not hear any noise from the other rooms. Oh and the bed was SO comfortable. Nevermind one night...I could happily live there (and the bar was a real bonus).
Great hotel! I’ve stayed in numerous big and small hotels in London and numerous flats over the years and the Rockwell is the only one I’d return to without giving it a second thought. At the risk of saying too much and jeopardize my ability to reserve again this hotel was fantastic. I had a garden room that was spacious with a good sized bathroom and small but functional and enjoyable outside area - perfect for a drink in the afternoon Sun. It was like having a small flat without a kitchen.
The reception area was really nice a modern quick check in and had the room ready a lot earlier than it states which is always a positive! It was one of the cheapest hotels I’ve stayed in at London especially that includes breakfast! It was very clean. Some would say the room is small but when you’re in London you don’t spend all day in your room so it’s not an issue as all you do is sleep there. I would rather a small room than a hefty price.
Room was compact but nicely decorated. The air conditioning was a big factor since London hit record temperatures while we stayed. My room was facing the street on the lower level but there was a large window that gave the room an open feel and I found it quite a quiet area. I thought the room was a bit pricy compared to some of the Russell Square hotels, but none of them had air con so it was well worth the extra and breakfast was included.
We loved the location, great value for money and the apartments give you extra facilities. The staff were all really nice and friendly and breakfast was great. We would definitely stay again, hotels in London are notoriously small roomed and expensive so the space and location were great value and some lovely touches (potion making was fab, white company toiletries and nice bedding and towels)
Tiny but excessively well-designed boutique hotel in the heart of London. The rooms are a tribute to architectural design, making a small space as functional as it can be. The staff is very much on call and eager to help. You'll love the location next to Paddington (straight in on the Heathrow Express), the Little Venice canals and Maida Vale.
Clean, modern in both the public areas and rooms. Considering this is at a Travelodge and Premier Inn budget hotel price-point, this totally blows both of them away for style and delivery. Room was tiny (it is central London) but it was well designed with lots of storage, comfortable bed and small shower but plentiful hot water.
great location with variety of restaurants and shops around . next to south end of brick-lane Argos is next door street good on Sundays seems new hotel comfy delecious breakfast great staff I booked a room with balcony was worth the money. surprisingly spacious bathroom unlike hotels of London. quick lifts
This place was great. Backpacking through Europe and needed a place in London, was much cheaper than any hostel and had a private bathroom. Sure the room was small but we aren’t in London to sit in the hotel. The staff was great, they printed things we needed and were super generous. Excellent place.
Great location just down from Borough Market and a shirt walk from London Bridge and other Bankside attractions. Room smart technology was good and should be the way new hotels go. Nice ground floor ambiance and tasty breakfast. Lots of casual business meetings seemed to be taking place on the lobby.
We stayed here for around 3 months and it's been the best experience we had so far out of all the apartments and hotels we stayed at. The staff, rooms and location are excellent and it's a great place for a long or short stay.
I really find it one of the best hotels in London, yah there is some challenges regarding not enough space in the room itself but in total picture the stay was excellent!
The location of the hotel was perfect for a quick hop over the bridge into the office. And it was also perfect to take in some of the tourist options London has to offer
Another great stay at my favourite hotel in London. Spacious room with an amazing view. Thanks to Kabita and her lovely Front Office Team :)
Very good apartments in this Hotel !! The best destination in central of London.
