have visited London many many times from a small child onwards, it is probably fair to say it has never been cleaner and better than now, yes like any big city there is crime but in the central tourist area you'd be very unlucky to be involved. There are so many things to see and do , even the main "must sees" but far more more obscure and unknown ones as well, eating out is expensive but with a huge choice and good quality (not something you would have been able to say maybe 20-30 years ago). It's a big busy city but there are lots of secluded peaceful gardens and squares were you can relax and recharge .
There was so much to see and you can get a lot of it done in a week but the more time, the better! I loved all of the museums and galleries, and other touristy spots. Only thing I wouldn't have spent money on was going into Tower Bridge, the view is much better from outside! Getting around was easy with contactless payment on buses and trains!
London reminded me a lot of New York. I chose not to do the rides or enter any establishments that were going to take too long due to limited time. We managed to fit in visits to all the main attractions , Covent, Leicester Gardens, Trafalgar Square and regent and Hyde parks. We walked the bridges and could get all the pictures and experience the atmosphere at these places. Accommodation is expensive closest to town and we rented a flat about an hour’s drive out in East London. Very affordable, clean , comfortable and safe. Close to Halaal eateries and transport. London is Definitely a must-see if you are in the United Kingdom. If you are a shopaholic, then Selfridges and Bond Street is imperative to go to. Many other places to shop. Transport is so effective and you can easily see the whole city if you take even the normal buses. Make sure you have proper walking shoes on. Toilets are few and far between places. Most eateries and big supermarkets have toilets available for public. Carry 50 pence just in case. Loved my stay in London.
I've been to London quite a few times and still haven't seen it all. It's nice that the UK speaks English. London transportation is excellent, although it can be quite crowded at times. Allow plenty of time to get from place to place. The exchange rate is steep and prices are high, so be prepared.
We truly enjoyed London. We were most impressed with the train system. The easiest to use of anywhere we have been. They had people at each entry point to assist and no need to buy tickets, just simply swipe your credit card when entering and leaving any of the train stations. The Royal Albert Hall was the highlight of our trip. Being music fans it was the single best music venue we have been to. The people were so nice everywhere went. The streets were filled with people. Plenty to do including shows, cafes etc
I have been coming to London since 2003 and enjoying every time. I go to other areas too but London is SOOOOOOO old and so cultured----there I can find stores that offer all manner of modern and Posh offeing----as well as ancient buildings (mytour of The Charater House for the first time this visit was amazing). The people are kind, polite and helpful. I have enjoyed multiple conversations of which many have become a high point of my vacation. There are all manner of Day Tours out of London which broadens my possibilities----Oh and I love the jaunts off the beaten path--I where one day I almost expect to be lost in time I have often taken an old Alley way off of Fleet or other old streets and half expected to wander into another era. And all that and more is why I love London.
Room is compact .. some would say too small perhaps, but for only 1 night it was perfectly fine. Room and bathroom was clean. Room was also perfectly quiet. Has a sweet little garden Although I did not have any, the breakfast looked nice but not many options. There are lots of options around this hotel for better breakfasts. Liverpool St is no more than 5 mins away and the new Elizabeth line means it's even more connected. If I need another stop over near the London office, will definitely consider staying here again.
The Executive Lounge staff was so very helpful in providing me (with food restrictions of no gluten/soy/dairy milk products) with 'safe' foods for my breakfast and evening meals. I had a similar positive experience with said food restrictions for dinner and breakfast at the Hilton Garden Inn on Eastern Perimeter Road near London Heathrow on May 14-15th. So, kudos and my thanks to Hilton! These two positive experiences will certainly influence my hotel choice when we travel in the future.
Kensington and Chelsea, London
What we really liked about this hotel is the magnificent design of every single detail from entrance to the rooms design to the other facilities in the hotel. The hotel overall is super clean and taken care of, so when you enter the hotel, you will get the vibes of 5 start hotels and hotel apartments. On top of that, the hotel is located in a very nice area and 5 minutes walk from Undergroung station and sorrownded by all daily needs shops, restaurants and Coffee shops.
The location is perfect for easy transportation into London or to Heathrow and Gatwick airports by all means of public transport. Having stayed many times by choice we love the intimacy of a smaller boutique hotel and the friendliness/helpfulness of all the staff from reception (front and office) to cleaners and Maintenance.Being very dog friendly is an exceptional bonus. We have stayed in all categories of room and the layout is very consistent.
The location is perfect for exploring London - it's just north of Kensington Park. It's particularly perfect if you're traveling with a toddler, as we were, because of its proximity to the Diana Memorial Playground. The neighborhood is quiet and residential, and the staff is accommodating and helpful. We liked the hotel so much that we stayed there at both ends of our England vacation, for multiple nights.
Excellent location, functional but small kitchenette and plenty of storage plus a good place to work which is rare to find in hotels in this part of London. For the price, I felt like it was an overall good experience with a few small fixes that could have made the place even better.
I stay in a lot of cheap hotels in London and this is my least favourite. The single bed was not a proper bed. It was a metal camp bed that sagged in the middle so it was very uncomfortable. I think the minimum you can expect from these cheap hotels is an actual proper bed
The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the location was a 10 out of 10. It was close to the Victoria train station, close to the tube, close to Buckingham Palace. Very walkable. Plus this is one of the few hotels in London where a king size room is truly a king size room.
Great staff and very clean. The location is an easy walk from the Pimlico station and only 10 minutes from the Victoria station. Very quiet and a good value. Like most high value hotels in London, the rooms were small but that was to be expected. The shower was great!
Great location very near Earls Court Tube station - perfect for getting to/from Heathrow, and a more affordable option for central London. Many food options very close. Bed comfortable. Fastest check in/check out I have ever experienced in a hotel.
Really like this hotel and have stayed a couple of times! Location is convenient for visiting our London office and love all the quirky details like the cocktail shaker and decor. Always sleep really well and it is super quiet! Breakfast is also really good!
Typical London hotel for that part of town. A tall terrace that was cheap and cheerful enough with good breakfast included. Staff friendly. Breakfast room could be bigger but the excellent sausages and tea bags would put far more expensive hotels to shame.
Westminster Borough, London
Wonderful to have an apartment in London. The location at Shepard Market is fantastic. Generous sized rooms. Plenty of places to store clothes unlike some of the newer hotels/apartments in Scotland.
The proximity to Train station and value compared to other hotels for one night stay Access to travel to London Heathrow, without having to book at airport hotel.
Honestly, nothing just the location. In general Hotels in London its a bit weird, old building and old furnitures.
Express train from Heathrow to Paddington Room reasonable size for London hotels
clean comfy beds and cheap compared to other london hotels
