We usually come to London between Christmas and New Year and it’s lovely but this year was extremely busy so we couldn’t do as much. We gave up on madame tussauds even though we prebooked our tickets as the queues were 3hrs long! Instead we got a cab to Covent Garden where we ambled around listening to street opera and magicians which always make it worth going there. This time we visited a restaurant called Tuttons and only waited 10-15 minutes for a table for five so pretty good. Beautiful carpaccio starter but I chose badly the main course and should have kept it Italian! They make some lovely cocktails which I recommend! Cable cars over the river were a thrill as they’re much higher than we imagined. Our accommodation was the Sunborn Yacht Hotel at Canary Wharf which I’ve reviewed also. Fantastic place to stay instead of a normal hotel and will return for a romantic weekend next time, leaving the rest of the family at home 😆. The only way to travel is by cab as they know everything and you rarely get ripped off especially if it’s a real Londoner driving. River taxis are also a great ride for sightseeing and they certainly do move fast. Of course everywhere you go there is something to see especially when it comes to beautiful architecture through the ages. The new Lego store is awesome!!! All in all a great visit.
The hotel overall was good. Room was small but it seems like ALL rooms mostly are limited in space but we were able to move around comfortably. For my first time in London it might have been far from the major tourist areas and it was always a 20 min metro ride but it was walking distance to Notting Hill. The neighborhood its in is really nice and quiet so sleep was great.
Was on short stay in London for GBBF2022 at Olympia. Have done visits before and will again hopefully. I settle into the buzz of our capital city and am amazed at the general friendliness from it’s hard pressed citizens and visitors.
Was pleasantly surprised at my first trip to London. Packed into a few days a lot of sight seeing and a couple of shows. We were there for ABBA voyage and from the hotel to the arena we were approx 30 mins via the DLR and this cost £1.60. Great location. We stayed at Ibis Canary Wharf.
Highly recommend a boat trip down the Thames. Gets you away from the crowds that can be quite overwhelming when trying to see sights. St Paul’s cathedral is well worth a visit and Covent Garden is fantastic for eating, shopping, street entertainment. A Chinese meal in Soho, Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square must sees So hard to review London as there is so much to do but on this occasion these things filled our few days.
London is very walkable. Most museums are free. There is a lot of green space, many parks. Also an amazing variety of things to see and do. Food from any part of the world in venues from the finest restaurants to street foods. Public transport is convenient. We have visited London many times and keep coming back.
Kensington and Chelsea, London
LOVE this place. So many positives. We have stayed in a lot of hotels and apartments but this one has shot to the top. Positives: Large place (better than a hotel room); lots of mirrors; good lighting (for makeup application); good mattress; 4 fluffy sleeping pillows; white thick towels; the kitchen had absolutely everything you will need; 2 huge TVs with Netflix and YouTube; the place is super clean; so close to the tube; the neighborhood is higher end (next to Portobello Rd and Kensington). We will stay here again. (January 2020)
Perfect location to explore London town, especially Covent Garden which was a stones throw away. Wasn't cheap but in-line with other London hotels and the quality of the hotel meet our expectations. The room was big enough for a family of 4, beds comfy and large bathroom. The staff were very friendly and capable, special shout to the barman, who unfortunately I cant remember his name but was super friendly and helpful, especially with the kids. Breakfast was very tasty in the morning, however we had to pay extra for this.
Location is fantastic. We walked everywhere. Very very real and near tube stations. Hotel very new/ clean. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Bottle of complimentary wine a nice gesture. Gym small but adequate with all new equipment. Also light not dingy as with a lot of London hotels. Breakfast was good although continental they offered freshly made scrambled eggs. Liked the coffee/ tea station in reception 24 hours. Use recycled water bottles. Would definitely stay there again when visiting London. Great place.
Contrary to other negative reports, I found this hotel to be a great value for the price. The rooms are small and efficiently designed, but not unlike other European hotels that must maximize the use of limited space. Reception was very friendly and accommodating and the location is hard to beat. You can walk to so many areas of central London and the nearby train station will take you everywhere else, including a direct route to the airport.
I booked a triple room (just to avoid a tight single room) which was right at the front on the ground floor. It’s rather tired in general and a bit outdated like many of the hotels in London that are affordable. Location is excellent and cheap enough with an English breakfast included.
The location: close to the Victoria train and coach station It was quiet, which is nice and I didn't experience in hotels of this price range in London. The staff was welcoming and very understanding of my situation for check-out (super early in the morning).
Kensington and Chelsea, London
I loved staying at Portobello serviced apartments and will book again next time in London. Perfect location, clean, nothing was missing in the room. So much better than a hotel, felt more local and relaxed, and better value.
I really find it one of the best hotels in London, yah there is some challenges regarding not enough space in the room itself but in total picture the stay was excellent!
The location of the hotel was perfect for a quick hop over the bridge into the office. And it was also perfect to take in some of the tourist options London has to offer
This is my 3rd stay in Hilton Canary Wharf, the room was VERY clean.. bed is comfortable and the staff was very friendly & helpful. One of my best hotels in London.
We were stuck in London because of a storm, so had to quickly chose somewhere to stay for the night so it was easy to book, cheaper than other hotels, staff friendly.
The best place where can stay for cheap money and good location, if you not expect some 5 stars hotels, that this is one of better places where can stay in London
CitizenM is one of the best hotels in London - it's so comfy and wonderful. Also so centrally located. I love staying there and would definitely stay again
Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. Old age charm in a luxerious setting, cosy and very welcoming. Rooms are large compared to other London hotels.
So much cheaper than other central London hotels. Very spacious room and all the facilities you need at a basic hotel.
Friendly staff, better breakfast than expected and Cheap hotels hard to find in London
Somwhat fair pricing amongst the horribly priced London hotels.
Everything. From the moment the taxi dropped us off at the door to the time we checked out, the experience at the hotel was top notch. The Ritz prides itself on exceptional service and they delivered that in spades. Of course, at this time of year, everyone comes in to see the Christmas Tree in the lobby, so lot's of people come and go. There is so much energy - it felt like THE place to be. We had a fabulous room - a one bedroom suite - on the 6th floor that overlooked Green Park. Breakfasts were plentiful - one could select from the buffet as well as a la carte - and one has to love the "a la minute" preparation of the hollandaise sauce for the eggs benedict. As I mentioned, the service is exceptional - my wife and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Very nice stuff @!!my daughter really enjoyed our stay!check it out guys especially if you're on a budget! It's close to everything!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
