Architecture, as always, a treasure - some older than 19thC, some very late 20th-early 21st - but always seems not to grate too much. If you don't want to fall off a stool while eating a meal, do not go to London. There is a definite shortage of chairs for eating establishments and zero A/C and almost zero fans which makes many dining choices, hot and humid. The British library is a place of wonder. Simply viewing the King's Library from outside its hallowed area, is a true treasure! Most of the locals were helpful and quite pleasant. This is, perhaps, my 20th visit to Great Britain - so, I am quite aware of differences between the Island and North American locales. This time was quick and short visit without Touristy times.
I enjoyed London very much. This was my second time, and I was thrilled with the experience. I enjoyed tea time at The Ritz and loved Pauls Bakery. We booked a jump-off/on-bus tour with the Big Bus Tours app, which was the only disappointing part of the trip. We could not find a bus and promise it was not a user error. The company reimbursed us but wrecked what should have been a seamless tour experience. London is a fantastic city with wonderful people. I truly enjoyed this trip!
A wonderful city- something for everyone, every minute of the day! Things to see and do all day and night! It’s a busy city do if you know you want to do something or eat somewhere best to book before arriving in the city.
London is such a special city, always buzzing with so much to do and see. The Tube is a phenomenal service, easy to navigate with lots of staff ready to help out. We met so many lovely, friendly people during our stay, I cannot wait to return, The Tower of London is a must-see with a guided tour by one of the Beefeaters.
We did all the tourist things for the first 3 1/2 days, and then just walked out and got lost or jumped on the underground to see where we’d get off… found a lot of beautiful places, gardens, houses, cafes and historical places… Also at least try and see one theatre show… so worth it !!! Easy to get around, on foot, by bus, by the underground or by train.. just explore!!!
Islington, London
I stayed in a great location, there was a metro just a two minute walk away. I went all over London with two tube lines. Also, I took the only metro from Heathrow airport to the front of the hotel and after check out went back.Everything was new in the hotel, I loved the white clean bedding sets. I was able to work comfortably with my computer because it had a desk and a lamp. Check in and check out was very easy on smart-lock keypad with the my password . I guess I stayed so cheap because the hotel was first opened.
This was my first stop in my solo adventure around England. The staff were so accommodating and some of the nicest people I have ever met. The room was very clean and they made sure to tidy it up every day I was there. The shared bathroom was also very clean. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the queens walk, the IWM and much more. Perfect for solo adventurers! That along with staying in a very beautiful historic building, this was the best choice of hotels I could have made. Thank you Bridge Hotel family!
Room was a great size and bed was exceptionally comfortable. Amazing location, super easy to get to from Heathrow, and not very touristy. There was a note about construction near the hotel and potential noises, but we heard absolutely nothing. The daily wine hour is an awesome treat, and the staff was nothing but wonderful to us. The hairdryer in the room wasn’t working and they promptly dropped off a working one for us. Truly loved our stay and this is now my go-to hotel next time I’m in London.
Just what we needed - clean, quiet rooms for one night, at a very reasonable price, within walking distance of the Albert Hall. What surprised me was how high spec this hotel was, and how roomy my room was; I've stayed in a lot of cheap hotels in London, and this was by far the smartest, cleanest one I have ever stayed in. Also, the guy on reception was very friendly and humorous, which made a pleasant change. I would definitely stay here again!
The location is perfect for exploring London - it's just north of Kensington Park. It's particularly perfect if you're traveling with a toddler, as we were, because of its proximity to the Diana Memorial Playground. The neighborhood is quiet and residential, and the staff is accommodating and helpful. We liked the hotel so much that we stayed there at both ends of our England vacation, for multiple nights.
Kensington and Chelsea, London
1. The place was perfect for our family. We like to stay in places where there is a lounging/living room area and a kitchen; hence the preference for apartments over hotels. Loved the layout - two floors, entrance per floor, luggage storage under the stairs). 2. Ease of check in and check out. 3. Clean and comfortable. 4. Very responsive support even if not onsite. 5. Location was great.
A short walk from Victoria coach station, easy to find and a central location with just a short walk or tube ride to popular sites in London. We were able to store our luggage before and after check in/out. It was one of the cheaper hotels that we considered for our trip, was fine for one night but for a longer stay we would consider an alternative.
Good value for the money - there are worse hotels that are more expensive. Relaxed and friendly staff, clean room, rather good room size for the prize (I have seen smaller rooms cost much more in London), room equipped with fridge, water boiler, tea and coffee. Well connected - a 10-min walk away from several subway lines.
The hotel is located in a good location, available using the metro service. The receptionist was kind and always helpful. The room was a bit smaller than expected and the price was quite higher for a hotel like this. You can find cheaper hotels in London with the same or higher quality, but everything was fine :)
I visit London 2-4 times a year and I normally stay at hotels that are more central but I really liked this location. Nice area with many restaurants and only 2-5 min walk from Earls Court and Gloucester Road stations. Large room (we stayed in a triple room) compared to other cheap London hotels. Friendly staff.
very comfortable place, good wifi, close to public transit making pretty easy to get into central london when you want, definitely a good alternative to or even an upgrade from a single hotel room if you're ready to pay some more (it's also cheaper than some hotels too especially the high end ones)
Camden, London
The location was great! Close to the underground and Pancreas / King's Cross rail stations. Also close to a Waitrose store. The room was large and spacious, and it was quiet. Althoug it wasn't cheap, it was good value when compared to hotels in London of equal quality.
Lovely little hotel in walking distance to Paddington station. Perfect for that last night or two in London before jumping on the Heathrow express out of town. We loved our neighborhood walk for a few miles around the property. Such a fun, yet not super touristy location.
The location is very convenient with short walking distance to Hyde park and Paddington station. The room was cozy and spacious. Abundant storage area and a safetey box available in the closet for storing valuables. On the cheaper side relative to other hotels in London.
excellent staff extremely helpful, short walk from King Cross station Basic facilities. Small room typical of cheaper London hotels. very clean room,
Location was very good, nice lobby and staff, modern and clean hotel, good value for what i paid Room was spacious compared to other hotels in London
I stay in a lot of cheap hotels in London. This is by far the best. Bed was comfy. The room was small but this is expected
Everything was excellence we was before in some hotels in London but this hotel is the. Best
