Absolutely wonderful! Best part of our trip. Spectacular sites. The buildings, landscapes, shopping all excellent! Loved it! Food was marvellous! So much to choose from. Mixed cultures. The history in this city oozes out of each statue and radiates into the city! The London Eye captures the beauty…great experience. Transit Hop on Hop off not recommended too many people not enough buses (BigBus). We ended up using Uber. Lots of walking. Easy using GPS.Recommend 100%
London is huge, busy and noisy in parts but it has a wealth of beauty, historical interest and green areas where you can find p and q if you want it. The culture on offer is almost limitless and extremely varied.
Had a lovely Thames river boat cruise in the evening with drinks and canapés with live music, heckling out the sites like the Shard, the London Eye, Tower Bridge and Westerminister Bridge it last for a couple of hours, would definitely recommend and as the trip was for our Silver Wedding Anniversary we stayed overnight in a hotel, although I’ve already reviewed that and that was not a good experience, early on in the day had a lovely meal in an Italian restaurant called San Carlo in Regent Street, would definitely return.
the best part for me was just walking up n down in london the architecture is verry beautiful and it was verry clean. What i do not like is dat the place is way over priced for what you get. you can buy from the same store with the same name as in south Afrika but because its in london you will pay the price 5x ( let me put it like this i got a Manchester shirt in south Afrika at adidas for R600 and in london i paye'd 80 pounds 85 pounds is =85 x 24.8 =R2108 for 1 shirt ) plus a normal plate of food at fish and chips was bout between 50 pounds an 105 pounds depends where so its about R1240 up to R2604 for fish and chips in south Afrika it between R25 and R150. Whe had a few dringk every night just for 2 shots of partone 2 corronas and 2 double jameson and renting a hooka pipe was about 210 pounds a round per night and it =R5208 and in south Africa all will be about R300 a round per night
It,s a wonderful city. Sometimes I wish I could live and work there (at lest for some time). There are a lot of green places like parks and gardens. The publis transport is very useful although it,s not cheap (especially the underground). Thra are o ot of museums and cultural events. Plenty of pubs and caffes. For me food in London could be less expensive.
