I only had a day free to shop for antiques. I was disappointed with Spitalfield market so header off to Portobello rd. The Notting Hill end is too touristy but Ladbroke Grove end was a lot better. Great flea market and mix of antiques.
I went to spend 2 days at the Imperial War Museum , not the norm but to see everything and watch every film, needed for me. With unlimited money and time London could never disappoint, more to see and do than you could do in a year. Numerous free museums and sights if you research before hand. Excellent travel options. Expensive for food and drink, especially alcohol and coffee at times but can be done cheaply if careful. Small shops and supermarkets for sandwiches , bottles water etc . Refill your water bottle at any coffee shop etc. Unless really interested, with major attractions view the outside as costly to enter and crowded Some of the best places are the less obvious, small parks and statues in unexpected places can beat the most well known, explore and enjoy.
The tourist sights of London, the fast food and dining options, the pubs all make London a great place to visit. You could spend a year here and still wouldnt experience everything you wanted to. Im English, but the attitudes of many locals on public transport and nearly all service staff we encountered in restaurants, hotels and pubs left us with so much to desire it is not even funny. Undertrained, self-entitled and outright rude. They could learn a lot from other countries.
If you're bored in London, you're bored with life. So much to see, so many places to walk to. Go on the river on a boat. Or walk everywhere, you can't go wrong. Best city in the world and I've seen most of them.
I love London and have returned several times. There are lots of accommodation choices but I definitely prefer self-catering apartments and living like a local. The transportation system is exceptional so I'm venturing further afield each time I visit. The top deck of any London bus is like being on a sightseeing tour. Lots of (mostly-free) museums. Historic buildings and monuments delight. Excellent city for theatre lovers. The biggest surprise is how good and affordable the meals at the pub-restaurants are, especially Sunday Roast. My favourite part of London is the west side.
In every place that I visited 'many,' the people were exceptionally friendly and, if asked, were helpful! In addition, the part of the city where I stayed was breathtakingly beautiful. Remember, you get what you dish. If you are friendly and kind, and respectful, so are the locals. There is so much to do that one couldn't even begin to touch even the highlights of the city within one visit. I stayed for just under two weeks. I hope to return this spring.
Kensington and Chelsea, London
LOVE this place. So many positives. We have stayed in a lot of hotels and apartments but this one has shot to the top. Positives: Large place (better than a hotel room); lots of mirrors; good lighting (for makeup application); good mattress; 4 fluffy sleeping pillows; white thick towels; the kitchen had absolutely everything you will need; 2 huge TVs with Netflix and YouTube; the place is super clean; so close to the tube; the neighborhood is higher end (next to Portobello Rd and Kensington). We will stay here again. (January 2020)
Our stay was great, was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, and I’ve stayed in royal London Montcalm to premier inn. The kitchen had everything you needed including all kitchen utensils, pans, cutlery, dishwasher, tv bathroom stuff. decor was fab, comfy bed which was actually a proper double. Breakfast was so nice. Such a decent price for what you get. A short walk from the station and Westminster. Staff were so nice and charged our phones cos we forgot one charger. Was exactly same as photos.
Kensington and Chelsea, London
What we really liked about this hotel is the magnificent design of every single detail from entrance to the rooms design to the other facilities in the hotel. The hotel overall is super clean and taken care of, so when you enter the hotel, you will get the vibes of 5 start hotels and hotel apartments. On top of that, the hotel is located in a very nice area and 5 minutes walk from Undergroung station and sorrownded by all daily needs shops, restaurants and Coffee shops.
Very comfortable and clean, great staff.Rooms need abit more updating, no saving mirror in the bathroom, no mirror on the office desk to do your hair and make-up so had to either stand up in the bathroom or sit on the floor by the wardrobe. It would have been a good idea to have a hotel channel on the TV to promote all the hotels facilities, restaurant, breakfast, hire cars and what London has to offer.
Tower Hamlets, London
Hand on heart I can say this is by far the best apartments I’ve stayed in every time I’m in london I book Fraser place it’s just very friendly very peaceful the staff have always sorted my requests out the prices are always reasonable especially for London as most hotels are quite expensive but the views from this apartment are amazing.
Large, clean room in a perfect location for London exploring and trains. Cheaper than the Premier Inn and significantly larger and more comfortable, so I worked from there in the morning rather than head to the office straightaway. Easy transfer to City Thameslink or Blackfriars, and very close to the sites at Bank or Southbank.
The room was in the good size comparing to other hotels in London at the same price. We satisfied with standards of the hotel. It looked better than in was in the pictures. The location was also nice, within the working distance to Paddington Station, Bayswater tube station and bus stop to Oxford Street.
this is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in London! the location was excellent, it came with a private bathroom as well as shampoo, soap, and a towel (the combination I didn’t find at any other hotels I stayed at). the staff was really kind and the room was spacious and warm on a cold night
Staff is friendly. The bed is comfortable. Lo e the blue light in the bathroom for use at night (red would be even friendlier ontheeyes). Breakfast is great, to the standard I expect for this brand and price. Compared to the cheaper hotels it's good value for money by London prices.
This hotel is beautiful and the rooms are large and well furnished compared to most London hotels. It is in a great location with the tube and rail across the road from the hotel and a 15 minute walk to Oxford Street. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Great location in the historic part of London. Rather less expensive than other 5 star hotels nearby. Great stay if you like unusual twist about the place where you are staying - the building previously has been a main police office of the city.
One of the best hotels in London, very clean and with a great staff and I will like to mention here Anne, a real professional in her job and a very warm person, the perfect person for this job in hospitality.
Westminster Borough, London
Wonderful to have an apartment in London. The location at Shepard Market is fantastic. Generous sized rooms. Plenty of places to store clothes unlike some of the newer hotels/apartments in Scotland.
This hotel is close to my office and convienant for the days I work In London - I only struggle with trying to get the room and the right price as I cant justify the stay in london when it rises
location, executive suite is spacious for a family of 4, breakfast is varied than other London Hotels, staff at the restaurant are nice and attentive.
Another great stay at my favourite hotel in London. Spacious room with an amazing view. Thanks to Kabita and her lovely Front Office Team :)
So much cheaper than other central London hotels. Very spacious room and all the facilities you need at a basic hotel.
Was cheaper then other hotels in London
