Royal Lancaster London, hotel in London

This 5-star London hotel is quietly located next to Hyde Park, Marble Arch and Lancaster Gate Tube Station. The hotel offers breath-taking views of the famous London skyline.

The Royal Lancaster is situated next to Hyde Park, directly on top of Lancaster Gate tube station, however it is also worth noting that it is a five minute walk away from Paddington station. I had a spacious room which offered a good view over central London. The room came with electrically operated blinds, which eliminated that old hotel cliche of blinds which don't fully close. Offers the option to check in via an app and to use your mobile as your room key

An amazing city with so many different neighborhoods to explore. We never used public transportation, walking everywhere. Easy to get to many/most of the "sights". Took a 3 1/2 hour (round trip) on the Thames getting to Greenwich. This was so worthwhile. You need to be able to tolerate crowds as streets, like Oxford, are packed with tourists. It is a beautiful city and some fabulous architecture to admire. City is clean and well cared for. A wonderful mix of cultures wherever you go. We loved it.

    3 days isn't enough.

3 days isn't enough. So, just enjoy bits of it if it's just a short stay but if you can, stay for atleast a week. I travelled alone last month and planning to come back with my daughter to enjoy more of London. 🥰 I did the typical touristy thing (hop on hop off) just for a glimpse of the city but the traffic is the worst. I guess it's better to take the undergound train next time. People in the city are mostly friendly and helpful too. I am Norwegian with Asian roots and they are indeed very nice to tourists.

I’ve been staying in cheap hotels part of the week for work since moving out of London about a year ago and have stayed in some ok places and some real dives (Not looking at you Forest Gate Hotel…) The Amhurst is easily the best of the lot so far. It was super clean, the owner was really friendly and it was generally cozy. Top marks. Bonus tip: ten minute walk away is a chip van that does the best fish and chips in London!
