We stayed near Paddington Station which is close to the West End with Marble Arch and Oxford Street a short walk away. Leicester Square , Covent garden Picadilly, Hyde Park corner, Knightsbridge and Theatreland are a short tube ride from Lancaster Gate station. We chose to eat in Chinatown near Soho and Shaftesbury Avenue where a host of stage shows are found such as MJ show. The Montcalm Brewery Hotel was extremely nice and in a central London location. Ramona and the rest of the hotel staff were courteous and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect! The room was cozy, spacious bathroom, really great smelling bathing products. The attached higher end feeling Restaurant Pub ‘The Jagged Hare’ was an added bonus after a long day trotting around London. Adding the full English breakfast was great and very convenient before leaving for Heathrow. Would def stay again as well as give 10+ stars!

The hotel is on a pleasant square with a garden in front and is only a short walk from Earl’s Court station. We had a room in the basement with a window looking up to the street which was an interesting change. The room was a reasonable size with a private bathroom. It was comfortable and the staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. London is always going to be expensive so the hotel isn’t cheap but it is reasonably priced for the city and a good alternative to the more expensive hotels nearer the centre.

I've stayed at the Balham Lodge on previous occasions. It's a cheap'n'cheerful spot in part of London where I have a good friend, so although it may appear a bit off the beaten track, it's actually easy to reach on public transport and a nice, quiet locale. Unusually for cheap hotels/b&b-s in London, the rooms (at least the ones I've stayed in) have decent-sized bathrooms and good quality showers. Facilities are clean, fairly basic and no one could reasonably expect any more at these prices.

This was my second time in this hotel and I absolutely love it. I love the location as it's 3 mins walking to my office and you are close to everything. The reception staff is always so welcoming and quick to solve any issues. Breakfast is simply outstanding, no matter if you're a croissant and coffee type or full english one. Room is small but OK for one person and I like that it has all the facilities you might need. All in all, a great stay and I'll book this place every time I'm in London.

The hotel is well located, being about halfway between Heathrow airport and the West End. We stayed here for two nights when we arrived in England then went elsewhere for several weeks then returned for a longer stay. We also stayed here last year. It is very close to the train station and has very helpful pleasant staff members. If/when we're next in London we'll certainly consider staying here again.

Loved the theme of the decor in the hotel and our room. everything was in good shape and functioning well. we had seen some old reviews about the rooms being hot, but the room had air con and the window opened for a good breeze so the room was a great temp. Good location to things we planned to do. The hotel had an elevator which many in London/England do not. overall would definitely stay here again.

This was a nice stay! The hotel is close to London Paddington station, which is a major station that most notably connects to Heathrow airport. It's also right by Kensington Gardens / Hyde Park. I just needed an economical overnight hotel convenient to Heathrow airport and central London for an unexpected overnight trip in London and this did the trick.
