London is the capitol city of what once was the largest Empires in the world! Thus, one of the largest busiest and most crowded cities of the world. Having said that, we enjoyed the East End play, Hyde Park. Riding on the"tube", and fish and chips in The Swan. (Pub)
London is great, lots to do and lots to see. Easy to get around with the buses and tubes. People are good, and very helpful. Loved London, you just have to review the property you are booking. Most properties are fine. Ours was disgusting do not book Kensington Court by Capital in Kensington.
This was not our first trip to London, but can always find new things to see and do. ”Cabaret” was great! Don’t miss “Paul A Young chocolates!! “ The best. Made on site. The store has moved from our last visit but was easy to find. The tube system is so easy to use and quick .. especially now that you can use a credit card. The fast train from the airport straight to paddington station was great for test for jet lagged passengers.
Nice to know before you go: British Museum: Japanese section closed without any warning anywhere except in loco National Portret Gallery: closed London Museum; on the docks until 2025 The Underground: when switching lines you will walk at least half a mile, they don't pay you for this, you will have to pay them. Sometimes there are lifts, sometimes not. Check!
Visit London a lot. Always stay in a different area to absorb the vibe and culture on your doorstep, this time canary Wharfe - too sterile for us but great if you are an underground shopper. Never miss a Covent garden trip and a beer in Mr Foggs. Love using the river boats to get about quicker - amazing skyline. We had an O2 Mamma Mia party experience which is a must do, Bumbled around Greenwich, interesting few hours around Cutty Sark and climb the mast. History afternoon around maritime museum and lunch in The gypsy Moth. All easy access via boat, tube & DLF.....but we always walk our socks off.
Very expensive. If you are going on a day out, expect to pay lots. Tourist attractions take photos and will charge you 20-30 pounds to keep the photo. Street food is not cheap. Attractions were very busy and I went in March. Architecture is nice. Overall seemed clean. I felt safe (I was travelling as 3 teens). Compared to Ireland, grocery shops have plenty of vegan options and food in general is more affordable from grocery shops. Trains costed more than I expected. If you are not staying in the city centre I recommend getting a travel pass. Book tickets ahead of time for attractions and arrive a little early as the queues are very long. If you arrive too early they will ask you to leave the queue. Lots of street performers near touristy places. The park next to Buckingham Palace is well worth a visit. Such beautiful nature and birds/animals, many of which are friendly.
Perfect location to explore London town, especially Covent Garden which was a stones throw away. Wasn't cheap but in-line with other London hotels and the quality of the hotel meet our expectations. The room was big enough for a family of 4, beds comfy and large bathroom. The staff were very friendly and capable, special shout to the barman, who unfortunately I cant remember his name but was super friendly and helpful, especially with the kids. Breakfast was very tasty in the morning, however we had to pay extra for this.
I booked this for one of my executive team, who flew from abroad for a business trip. I needed hotel accommodation near our offices and partnering company This was perfect, in a part residential area but near to main tubes and train stations in Holborn, city, west end of London. The reservation/reception team were exceptionally helpful from beginning to end - especially Bargo. She demonstrated excellent customer service from pre check in till the end.
The reception area was really nice a modern quick check in and had the room ready a lot earlier than it states which is always a positive! It was one of the cheapest hotels I’ve stayed in at London especially that includes breakfast! It was very clean. Some would say the room is small but when you’re in London you don’t spend all day in your room so it’s not an issue as all you do is sleep there. I would rather a small room than a hefty price.
We got a really cheap rate. If we had paid more we would have been bothered about the issues I described, but we paid close to hostel prices so didn't mind for a few nights. Room a decent size, very quiet area for central London, excellent location. I have stayed in lots of budget hotels in London and probably wouldn't stay here again as it currently is. It's a shame as with a little effort it could be a decent budget hotel.
The hotel has the soul. It is far from be qualified as a luxury, but it is charming, with extremely kind personnel. They provide to their guests opportunity to use modern and well equipped Gym, what is not common for many hotels with literally better reputation. Also, location is fantastic. In the hotel's vicinity are two tube station which enables easy and fast connection with the London downtown and main attractions.
When I'm in London I normally like traditional hotels. The Royal Lancaster is more modern but spotlessly clean and very elegant. The location was great, the view from the room magnificent (overlooking Hyde Park) and the room very comfortable and well-appointed. Residential area but very close to central London.
I visit London 2-4 times a year and I normally stay at hotels that are more central but I really liked this location. Nice area with many restaurants and only 2-5 min walk from Earls Court and Gloucester Road stations. Large room (we stayed in a triple room) compared to other cheap London hotels. Friendly staff.
I often stay in cheaper hotels in London, and this was one of the best I’ve experienced. scrupulously clean, quiet and with a really top quality mattress and pillow/duvet. I slept great. Friendly bloke at reception too.
the Location ist very Good 5-8 Minutes to tje underground. nice and delicious restaurants are around - hotels in London are in general very expensive. If you find a cheaper opportunity take it - it’s not worth it here
The room was much bigger than is typical of London hotels, especailly at the price point. Very reasonable rates and good service. Tasty breakfast as well.
location, executive suite is spacious for a family of 4, breakfast is varied than other London Hotels, staff at the restaurant are nice and attentive.
Kensington and Chelsea, London
location was great, brand new hotel, the interiors were really nice, the room size was relatively big to other London hotels, the amenities were nice.
Friendly staff, better breakfast than expected and Cheap hotels hard to find in London
location, staff, comfortable, one of the best hotels I’ve in London
everything was extraordinary one of the best hotels in London
The vibe , one of my best hotels in London
Was cheaper then other hotels in London
