Loved being in canary wharf but not the hotel .paid nearly £200 for 2 nights .TV was not working and it was too cold was given a heater to use .No window parking was £50 for 2 nights .It was awful weekend. I should have booked at Holiday Inn instead
The hotel is great and the staff was amazing. But a room for 215 euros (including breakfast) and then to charge Internet cost extra is a joke in 2023. This normally only happen on cruises or in airplanes since 2002 :) Lucky we have mobile Internet, but that would be why I would not select this hotel or hotel chain in the future.
London is just the city that you will always want to visit over and over again. There is never a dull moment when visiting London, as there are plenty to see, visit and explore. London is that city where history is all around you, from the 18 century to present day, it is progressing with time. I LOVE LONDON CITY AND LOOKING FORWARD TO VISITING SOON WITH MY CHILDREN.
It's a very busy city as was expected and the people there are not as friendly as in Liverpool and Manchester and some restaurants/coffees there treated us in an impolite fashion. The sights are nice to see but the rest of the city is just way too full and chaotic for our taste.
London is always a great destination for a long weekend. There are many paid attractions i.e. Tower Bridge and free attractions i.e. The Sky Gardens, just make sure you book in advance. There are so many shows to see and it is easy to get around by Bus, Tube or DLR. Walking along both sides of the river is enjoyable and there is always plenty going on.
I visit London quite often and there are a few places I enjoy. For breakfast, I would recommend Duck & Waffle, and for drinks later The Mayor Of Scaredy Cat Town. I would also recommend buying tickets for Tower Bridge, there are lovely views from the walkways, and it is not pricey. Taking the river cruise is lovely, you can take the boat from the center to Greenwich park where you can have a picnic with a view. If you enjoy museums, the Trasport Museum or the Postal Museum is a must. You have to pay for these museums, but the ticket is valid for the entire year. Traveling around London is easy, tube or bus, just tap the card if you don't have an Oyster card.
Modern, efficient hotel in a good location for access to the underground. Easy to reach Paddington station and the Heathrow Express to airport, as well as other lines to central London. Room was well appointed with well-lit bath and walk-in shower, comfortable bed, good seating and closet space, and a view of the park across the street. Several restaurants nearby - we enjoyed Al-Forno for a good pasta meal (the owner was most friendly). The Liz Cafe down the street is popular for breakfast and lunch.
I read other reviews and was a bit worried but in fact my room was newly refurbished, clean and comfortable. Last minute booking on a Sunday, arrived 10 pm and staff made sure I didn’t queue long. They were friendly. Room was quiet and I could make a cup of tea. Bathroom was really nice with good working shower. Towels enough and nice. Slept really well and left early morning for train, no problem. There are more expensive hotels in London so for location and convenience it does have benefits.
I have stayed in several hotels in my 30 years of visiting London. For a buget hotel I continue returning to Villa Kensington located in the South Kensington area. There are no frills but it meets my needs. Which are a reasonable rate for a room I only use to sleep, and a bathe. Clean linens and a bathroom I am not afraid to use. And who can complain about a 3 minute walk to a tube station with 3 lines (including Piccadilly to Heathrow 45 mins away)? Very friendly and helpful staff.
Good location close to public transportation and shops and restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room size was good when you compare it to London hotels of similar size. The modern bathroom which had a large walk-in shower, was especially welcome. We also liked the fact that the room was uncarpeted and that it faced the back, so it was nice and quiet. We could keep the window opened at night. They offered us free breakfast for the first day, which was nice.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located close to bus routes and tube stations. I walked to my Liverpool street offices each morning. There are plenty of Indian restaurants nearby, I had a magnificent Biriyani a block away from the hotel. Most importantly, the bed was very comfortable, not too soft. The shower warm, and the best towels any London hotel of any star (up to 4*) that i have stayed in.
We loved the location, great value for money and the apartments give you extra facilities. The staff were all really nice and friendly and breakfast was great. We would definitely stay again, hotels in London are notoriously small roomed and expensive so the space and location were great value and some lovely touches (potion making was fab, white company toiletries and nice bedding and towels)
I stay at Z hotels when I am traveling through London and just need a place to stay for one night before going back to Heathrow the next day. The rooms aren't huge but the bed was large and comfortable. The room was at the back of the building so it was quiet. The TV was large. The window blinds closed with the push of a button to completely block out any light.
Windermere hotel is situated just 300m from Victoria coach station - close enough to easily drag heavy bags when coming by bus into London from Heathrow. I had had a 40 hour trip when I arrived and they let me check in early, which was much appreciated. The staff were very helpful and the shower was very warm and the bed was very comfortable.
The hotel seems to be recently renovated, the bathroom looked nice and fresh. My room had a terrace, which is rare in the London hotels. The hotel is located just across the street from the Hyde Park and 15 min walk from the Paddington station, which is very convenient if travelling from the Heathrow airport.
Tower Hamlets, London
We stayed in London for 6 nights and I worked from the hotel whilst my partner went to his office. We appreciated being able to make breakfast in the morning and use the washing machine. The location was so convenient, only 20-30mins walk to Shoreditch as well as Borough Market and 30mins tube to Soho.
I booked this hotel as it’s very near to my office, I loved it! staff unreal couldn’t do enough to help, room service quick & amazing! I will be staying here each time I go to the london office. I felt relaxed & comfortable here. can’t wait to return!
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean and the room is bigger than most (and the hotel is cheaper than most). The WiFi was the best I've used during my stay in London. The neighborhood has every shop or resturant you will need.
I often stay in cheaper hotels in London, and this was one of the best I’ve experienced. scrupulously clean, quiet and with a really top quality mattress and pillow/duvet. I slept great. Friendly bloke at reception too.
i loved the rooms were clean and the shower was good - and you couldn't smell dust like you do in most london hotels so that was nice, and no carpetting for me that is great for allergies!
The room was much bigger than is typical of London hotels, especailly at the price point. Very reasonable rates and good service. Tasty breakfast as well.
The rooms are small but its cheap for london hotels so its quite good. we loved the lobby and everything looks like, very nice ambiente :)
rooms are spacious compared to other hotels I’ve stayed in london. have there own car park and parking rates are cheap £12 a day.
the staff is exceptional, the size compared to other London hotels is bigger
everything was extraordinary one of the best hotels in London
