We didn't receive the host's instructions as to how to get there and our Sat Nav directed us through farms and dirt roads, and to the wrong house, but once we arrived all was well. We had the upper floor to ourselves, so although the toilet was out of our room, it was easily accessible. The breakfast was excellent. The host was very kind to our grandchildren. This was a very good location for seeing Bamburgh Castle and Holy Isle.

This is an 1840 ex-schoolmaster's house in a very quiet location in the countryside, 3.6 miles from Morrisons supermarket and 5 miles from the centre of Berwick-upon-Tweed.
A family home.
We are in the Berwickshire countryside. The scenery is idyllic and has some nice walks. The bus routes from Berwick are: 60 and the 260. They pass the bottom of our road. The stop is Starch House (the Border). The nearest hostelries are in Berwick starting from Morrison's roundabout on the A1. It is ten minutes to the centre of town.
