What I liked most about Batumi were the sea, the food, and the wine—especially after a mountain hike. However, Batumi felt like a very noisy city with hectic and dangerous traffic, as drivers don’t seem to follow traffic rules at all. When visiting the city, I would recommend taking a ride on the funicular to the viewpoint, which offers a stunning view of the entire city and the sea. It’s also worth strolling through the old town, visiting Europe Square and Piazza, seeing the moving sculpture of Ali & Nino, and walking along the promenade. Most importantly, take a swim, enjoy the local cuisine, and try the wine. I particularly recommend tasting wine made using the traditional qvevri methodIvanRussia - Scored 4.04.0

Batumi is a common seaside post-Soviet city. However, it has its own spirit, especially at the old town. It is also great to explore surroundings and suburbs. The best of Ajara is outside of the city.
