Combine the relaxation of a village, with the opportunity to visit the most beautiful beaches of Crete! This marvelous traditional stonehouse is located at the village named Pappadiana (Kissamou), a 20 minutes drive from the well known for their rare beauty beaches Elafonisi, Kedrodasos, and also from other magnificent bights, mountain peaks and unexplored paths. The house can host 4 people as it is equiped with a double bed, a single bed and a couch-bed.
We have been hosts since 2016 and we can say with certainty that it is a truly great experience. We see it as an oppurtunity to meet new people, host them as better as we can, show them our traditions, give them the chance to explore this beautiful part of Crete and be able to say at their end of their stay, that we made some new good friends.
The village of Pappadiana is divided into two neighborhoods. The house is located in the lower neighborhood and is surrounded by other stone-built houses. Near the house there is a cistern where people used to wash their clothes. There is plenty of water running on it, so it's full of plane trees. There are many paths that one can choose to explore the mountains either by bicycle or on foot. It is preferable for the visitors of the house to have their own means of transport as the buses connecting the specific villages with the city of Chania are few and they are about 25 minutes walk from the residence. The road that leads to the neighborhood of the house is quite narrow and bumpy, so some prefer to leave their car in a nearby square and take a 2 minutes walk to the house. This is what makes the village special, that it is in the nature and no car noise can stop you from relaxing. Residence to Chania city centre: 1 hour and 7 minutes Residence to Airport: 1 hour and 26 minutes Residence to port of Souda: 1 hour and 10 minutes Residence to Elafonisi: 20 minutes Residence to Kedrodasos: 25 minutes Residence to Balos beach: 1 hour and 19 minutes
