Company info

I'm Ksandro, your host. Have graduated from the Faculty of Law and worked as a lawyer and in a bank (legal department, Manager of HR department and Head office) for number of years before he joined me in our family business. At the beginning of 2014, Ksandro has been appointed a representative for private accommodation sector within Zagreb Tourist Board Assembly. Have two children, Jan (14) and Mirjam (12) have grown into very open-minded and inquisitive children who love to explore new places and meet different people. They share with us the love to travel and experience new countries. We tend to take them to a different place every year. They've already visited 30 different countries! They speak some German and English and enjoy meeting our new friends. Apart from the apartment rental I can provide various tours in and around Zagreb as well as transfers to other cities/attractions.

Property info

As its name suggests, this equisite four-star apartment is situated in a beautiful Baroque mansion from the first half of the 18th century. Over the centuries it changed owners – they were all members of notable Croatian families. The house has been divided into a few apartments since 20th century, apartment Baroque being one of them. The apartment has been newly renovated and decorated bringing to life the atmosphere of the Baroque era. The Upper Town, with a backdrop of beautiful architecture and courtyards, museums and galleries provides a perfect place to stay and explore Zagreb. You will experience the city's romantic past by walking along its historical streets illuminated by gas lanterns, taking one of the shortest funicular rides in the world or enjoying the romantic dinner in one of the retro looking Upper Town taverns! – ideal for two (1 double bed and a pull out sofa for additional person); crib/cot on request; lounge room with study corner (WiFi), sleeping area (double bed) and dining area, fully equiped kitchen (stove/oven, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, boiler), and bathroom (shower, toilet, washing machine, drying line), air-conditioning, max TV.

Neighborhood info

The apartment Baroque is situated on Opaticka street (Nuns street), just behind the Parliament and Church of St Mark, only steps away from the only mediaval gate into the city – the Stone Gate. In the 17th and 18th century there was a convent of St Clare order further up the street. The nuns had a school within the complex and were tutoring the daughters of the noble families – they taught them music, knitting, sewing and good manners. Today it is housing the Zagreb City Museum with rich exhibits dating from the city's earliest history until present. Only 5 min walk from the apartment Baroque you will find yourself on the Zagreb's liveliest farmer's market Dolac with daily fresh range of fruit, vegetables, meats and fish. The minute you step out of the apartment, you will be surrounded by Zagreb's major sights (Church of St Mark, Parliament, Church of St Catherine, Stone Gate, Lotrscak tower etc.). Don't forget, our Prime Minister is one of your first neighbours – his office is just across the street. Beautiful Downtown area from the second half of the 19th century is also minutes walk from here – you don't even need to walk – take the funicular;
