Kaesa and his family are excellent hosts, they will do anything to make your stay worthwhile. Whether you stay 1, 2, 3 or 4 nights, just follow his advice / suggestions, and you can't go wrong. His network / family of drivers and guides make it all happen. "Uncle Mike", "son of uncle Mike", "Juan Carlos" and others were all friendly and professional. The hike to the top of the vulcano starting at 04:30 was the best part of the stay.. And last but not least, the bed was very good as well.

Lovely family runs the place and someone was always nearby to answer questions. Our Mountain View room was typical for the area. Nice view from the balcony. Kaes organized our volcano guide and onward travel. I can’t speak to the cost because I don’t have anything to compare it with.

The mum also took the time to take me along with part of her day because I was interested in shopping at the traditional market. Mr. Kaesa is a kind and helpful person and so is his entire family. His wife Happy is equally sweet person. His niece June drove me in her motor bike to run some of my errands. His son Shafiqul and Shafiqul's wife Shundori were also very nice. I was very lucky to have met this wonder family. I wish them all the best. I will definitely come back and stay at Kaesa Homestay.

Very helpful and friendly hosts, great location and facilities. They helped us to arrange volcano climb/trekking which was a great experience at an early hour. Food was also very good.

Kaesa and his family clearly take great pride in what they do. They really do their best to make one feel at home and have the best time in Berastagi. Upon arrival we were informed by Kaesa on what to see and do in the area, we even got a map. We could ask them also later about anything, someone from the family was always around. They helped us arrange good private transfer to Lake Toba. Our room downstairs was basic but spotlessly clean, like the rest of the property. The bed was comfortable, on the softer side. Their restaurant offers very tasty food for a decent price. The included breakfast was good, too. Wifi worked quite well. If we ever go back to Berastagi, it is no question where we will stay. We had a great time!

Loved our stay here with a fantastic family. We felt like family immediately upon our arrival. We were fortunate to join the owners for dinner at the local market where they introduced us to the best stalls. And our morning hike to see sunrise on the volcano with the owners son was amazing. We arranged transportation to/from Berastagi with Kaesa and were provided the best driver of our trip, Rio. He is an extremely safe driver which we greatly appreciated. He is also friendly and willing to add stops with a smile saying “take your time”. Rio was the only driver who got through the road to the volcano base on the morning we hiked and other groups were late and missed sunrise.

Great and friendly communication with Kees and his son. Clean rooms and good location (close by to the center). The breakfast was very good (and amazing coffee :D). Highly recommended for visiting Berastagi and / or mount Sibayak (max 3 three hours walking to the top). Kees and his family run the place with a lot of passion. They are very friendly and want to help with whatever question you have. They printed out a map from the city and every visitor receives one with some explanation. Kees his son leads tours every early morning (4.30) to the top of the Vulcano to see the sunrise. We didn't participate but heard a lot of good stories from other visitors. When we explained that we would do the tour by ourselves we received information on how to come there and which route to take. To summarize: We had a very pleasant stay and felt very welcomed by Kees and his family.

You'll get more than you pay. The staffs are very friendly. The facilities same as they advertised. They ask our preference before preparing our breakfast. They also provide a guide to hike Mount Sibayak. The place near Pasar Buah Berastagi. They allowed us to check out late for free as the prayer time at that time is 12.12. Thank you so much for the hospitality. We were very happy and satisfied staying there.
