IrelandLoved this castle. The courtyard was my favourite space. It was lovely and quiet during our stay so we found it very peaceful. Our rooms were in the Abby wing on the ground floor and we loved the four poster beds. Quirky bathrooms with a lovely deep bath to soak in. Lovely grounds for a little stroll and bigger walks available too. I wanted to give my girls a castle experience and Kinnitty didn't disappoint. Will happily return again.

Birr is a lovely town - we visited family and friends and spent some time exploring the town. We visited Birr Castle and gardens, which are spectacular. We visited the castle grounds which were excellent and much better than we expected. Town centre has everything and reasonable cafes. Lots of pubs but then it was Ireland! Visit the castle. You could around the grounds for hours. Lovely science museum in the castle. Lots of shops. Park and walk around it’s busy for driving. Birr is a beautiful town. It's steeped in history. The period houses all around are stunning. Castle tour is highly recommended. Lot's to see and do there. Nolan's pub was very welcoming and a great pint to be had. Kelly's bar is great for food and old fashioned Irish atmosphere and pint of Guinness.Guest review byCarolIreland

The residents breakfast room was really nice, and the breakfast was excellent and well cooked.
