This charming converted stable is located alongside Knockdrinna Cafe in the village of Stoneyford. 'Purcells' was built in the 1800's and has been tastefully converted to a comfortable two bedroom dwelling. The building is part of a complex of 5 traditional stone farm buildings on Robert and Helen Finnegan's farm, each one making the most of the buildings unique characterstics. Purcells has a unique charm, from the moment you step inside. The lounge/living area is a double-spaced area with lots of natural wood throughout along with a wood stove and fireplace. A separate kitchen is adjacent to the living area also made from traditional pine. It offers all mod cons with cooker/oven microwave, fridge dishwasher etc. There is a downstairs bedroom with bathroom/wet room shower. The doors are extra wide on the ground floor making it suitable for wheelchair access. Upstairs has a compact double bedroom and ensuite shower toilet. There is an additional charge for heating from October to March paid on site via an ap.
Helen runs an artisan cheese business and cafe/deli on their farm, just adjacent to the property. Food and hospitality are her passion and she is keen to share this passions with her guests Helen and Robert enjoy welcoming guests onto their farm and are very knowledgable about the amenities and facilities in the surrounding area and can help guest to make to best choices to enjoy their stay. Helen runs a numer of courses on the farm. Cheese making courses, butter making courses, bread and butter courses are all available from the farm.
Stoneyford is a friendly rural village just 15km from the Medieval City of Kilkenny City. The village has a pub, cafe and fast food outlet. Nearby attractions are Kelly Priory, Jerpoint Glass, Jerpoint Abbey, Nicolas Moss Pottery Bennettsbridge. Mount Juliet Hotel and Golf Course is just 5k away.
