The Altana is a large apartment in Siena on the second floor of a 1920s Art Nouveau villa in the residential district of San Prospero. To enter the apartment you need to climb 49 steps. Located a few steps from the Medici Fortress and the basilica of San Domenico from which you can easily reach the historic center (about 600 meters from Altana) on foot in a few minutes. The apartment has been completely renovated, it can comfortably accommodate up to five people, there is the possibility of parking 'car in the garden, parking is not easy to find in Siena. Pets are not allowed and smoking is not allowed in the apartment. Arriving in Siena by car from both the north and south, it is easy to reach the Altana by following the signs for Fortezza Medicea or Stadio, both a few hundred meters away. The main entrance is on Via Pannilunghi n.1 while the parking in the garden can be reached from via XXIV Maggio n.2. Our residence is in fact located on the corner of the two streets. The "L'Altana" apartment does not have the classic air conditioning system but it has a climate control system. Air conditioning and climate control system are not the same thing, the difference lies in the controlled parameters, in fact the climate control system is much healthier, it allows the air to be dehumidified as well as reducing its temperature. For this reason, the climatic solution is ideal for those who suffer from the humid heat in the summer, this guarantees a stable and comfortable temperature. The two large bedrooms have an en suite bathroom, the living room is very large and then going up to the roof terrace you can enjoy a beautiful view of Siena.

The San Prospero district where the apartment is located was born in the 1920s when Siena expanded outside the walls creating a new elegant residential area with Art Nouveau villas, large avenues a stone's throw from the old city near the Medici Fortress and the Basilica of San Dominic. It is a quiet and peaceful neighborhood from which it is possible to reach the historic center of the city in a few minutes. About 200 meters from the apartment, under the walls of the Medici Fortress, are the stations for recharging electric cars. The center can be reached on foot in a few minutes, passing under the Medici Fortress, on this route there are beautiful views of the city, through Viale dei Mille, the Basilica of San Domenico and Via della Sapienza and you arrive in the heart of the city, Piazza del Campo, the Cathedral etc. Near the apartment there are supermarkets (at 350 m or 650 m), bars, pharmacy, restaurant, pizzeria. A beautiful market is held on Wednesday under the walls of the Fortress.
