The Santa Croce district is located in the south-eastern part of the historic center of Florence. The main monument of this area is certainly the church of Santa Croce with a marble façade situated in a dominant position in the Santa Croce square of the same name. Inside the basilica we find tombs of famous artists such as Machiavelli, Alfieri, Michelangelo and the tomb of Galileo Galilei.
