Excellent Japanese breakfast beautifully presented. Mr. Izumi was kind, helpful and attentive. He picked us up and dropped us off at the train station and gave us suggestions for restaurants and for sightseeing in Nikko and the area. The property is in a beautiful location.

Great hosts and good location. Breakfast was fantastic, and being able to sit while listening to the river and drinking green tea or yuzu sake at the heated table was a fantastic and very relaxing experience. (get the local stuff from the wine alcohol shop in Nikko!--it'll be front and center) Although the B&B is not on the main strip, it is situated directly atop the abyss and we were able visit the temples on a leisurely walk into town and finish up to have lunch before many of the tour groups had even reached town. We hope to have the opportunity to visit again!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in early November. Our room was spacious, well stocked, and very comfortable. The view from the private porch was amazing as was the service we received. We also appreciate the free parking. The breakfast was the best we’ve had since moving here a year ago!

The proprietor, Izumi-san, is the perfect host. He greeted me in his private car at the railway station and took my bags to the B&B so I could have an afternoon for sightseeing in Nikko. Izumi-san prepared a delicious Japanese breakfast on my first morning and then took me to the bus station where I could take the bus to Lake Chuzenji for the day. The service provided by Izumi-san goes way beyond what one would expect at a bed and breakfast.

Izumi was the ultimate host. He was so welcoming and helpful…picking us up from the Nikko Station, making dinner reservations for us, driving us, and picking us up from dinner both nights! He was not only our host but also our personal tour guide…even calling to help us book a tour in Kanazawa. Izumi built his fabulous home, with the creek gurgling by, and the deer gazing at you, so that his guests would have the best experience in Nikko!

Everything from the start to the end of our stay was perfect. Izumi picked us up at the train station and has made great breakfast. The B&B is lovely in a calm environment. The bus stop is only 10 min by walk to go to the mountain or city center. I recommend totally this place and the warm welcome from the host.

It was our third stay in three years, which already speaks volumes about how much we like staying here. The location is a little secluded (15 min walk from the nearest bus stop), but Nagai-san (the host) is always offering to drive us to the bus stop/train station to help us out. Each room has its own terrace, and the view is wonderful with a brook running by. We also love the breakfast!

This place is like a paradise! The room was beautiful with a deck right on the river, and it was so hard to leave to sightsee when I could've spent the entire time on our peaceful deck (we saw tons of deer and a Japanese marten, right from the deck!). Izumi-san is the nicest person in the nicest country and the breakfasts he made were so delicious. He offered to pick us up when it was pouring and made some recommendations for restaurants, which we tried and were outstanding. Best B and B ever and I want to live here!
