Moses was such a darling, he took into consideration all of our requests. And the breakfast selection was quite good. The location of the place was also very convenient, just a few minutes' walk to most of the main sites around lamu.

Breakfast was great.. Moses is a gem. Great view of the channel and Lamu town. Feels like a garden house with all the plants and flowers. Nothing bougie nor fancy but fit for purpose if you're on a low budget.

Fully restored 300 year old Arab Traders Mansion, overlooking the waterfront in Lamu Town. Breakfast is served in the shaded Courtyard Garden. The property has several roof terraces, with a large top floor terrace perfect for sun-downers. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, Four poster beds,Mosquito nets and paddle fans . The house is furnished with artworks and antiques and is great for enjoying the laid back pace of Lamu. Our friendly House staff are there to meet you at the jetty in Lamutown on arrival, and during your stay, just ask and they will do what they can to assist. There is a homemade guide book at the property to enrich your stay add to your enjoyment and local knowledge.
I am a British Architect who was based in Nairobi and loves travel. I've worked on a variety of cultural, hospitality, social and commercial projects throughout Europe and Africa. I'm keen on art, literature, watersports, and the house is my home when I'm in Kenya... which regretably isn't often enough. When you make your reservation you will be dealing with me directly, and I'm happy to answer any of your queries both pre-during your stay.
Samaki House is a great location to experience and observe the Historic centre, whilst enjoy rooftop views and a 180 degree view of the water front. In close proximity are the Museums, Fort, Market places, and Historic Mosques. Lamu House Hotel is adjacent to us, and there is a good selection of restaurants along the waterfront and in town.
