We absolutely loved Peacock Villa! The family who runs it is so incredibly kind and friendly. You stay on their property where the meals are home cooked (tbh the best food I had in all or Sri Lanka), they drive you in their keep for the safari and the property itself is beautiful. While sitting on the balcony, we saw a bunch of monkeys crossing through trees. They will also help arrange transportation for you at a great rate considering the distance. I can’t wait to come back here sometime again!

One of the cleanest rooms with hot water in Sri Lanka with amazing hosts that both cook delicious food and provide excellent safaris. The owner is so good at spotting animals that the other jeeps and guides were getting information from him. He was also very helpful and understanding. I really wanted to share the cost of the entry fee (cheaper with more people) and safari. He drove me to the National Park gate so I could try to join a group. He also let us use the chairs from the shop to wait for the bus to Wellawaya (then transfer to Ella) that passes in front of the hotel. The hotel is close to the National Park, which means you can see the animals from the balcony while you eat dinner and breakfast. That also means that you will likely eat dinner and breakfast at the hotel. There aren't restaurants nearby.

The owners are very friendly, caring and warm young couple, took care of everything we needed and made us feel at home. The place is quiet and calm with a nice balcony. The food was delicious. We also got the safari tour which was fantastic. Thanks alot for your kindness.

Very nice environment. Beautiful due to the park on the front and the river on the south. It was a blessing to see a baby elephant naturally while having dinner from the balcony. And the hot water in the bathroom helped with the morning cold. The staff was very friendly. We looked our way and made our way on an important journey. .

The family is super sweet and welcoming! They help you with anything you could need and more. We ate their dinner and it was one of the best dinners (if not the best) tht we've had in Sri Lanka! In the morning we took the 7h safari with our host and saw lots of animals - it was great! When we had to leave, they even helped us to get onto the right bus. The room was clean and not too hot eventough we booked without AC! Definetly recommend staying here! 🫶🏼

Super nice family and one of the best hosts we had in Sri Lanka. The wife is an exceptional chef, who prepared a massive dinner on the day we arrived. Very delicious and prepared with love. Definitely to much for one person, but very tasty. They use local products and explain to you all the different dishes. The host offers a safari in the morning with his own car for a very reasonable price:) if you get breakfast with your stay, you can enjoy an awesome Sri Lanka breakfast during your safari while sitting next to a beautiful lake. Very welcoming and friendly. Also organised transportation for us (Ella to Udawalawa) for very fair price. Please keep your accomodation the way it is and your way of hosting:)
