I loved everything, the property is a colonial style home. The rooms are VERY spacious and clean, the team is very friendly and accommodating, my room had a lovely big terrace overlooking the sea which I adored.

Excellent service from start to finish. Special mention to Nalin. Nalin is an expert at kind and attentive customer service. Thank you for everything. If you want a place to completely relax this is perfect. Away from any crowds, extremely peaceful (only the sound of waves to rock you to sleep) and an almost private beach. The pool was in excellent condition, the bedroom was spotless, we had the side ocean view, the view was spectacular across the lagoon out the back and down the beach. We were planning to do some exploring during our 2 night stay, but, on arrival almost immediately decided to stay put and chill out. The food was excellent every meal. The highlights were a Swordfish Steak Special for one of our lunches, the SriLankan Breakfast (hoppers), and for dinner the 3 veg curries. It seemed everything on the menu would have been delicious. We were there in the low season so the hotel at approx 50% capacity. Only 12 rooms in total so really felt like an authentic boutique experience. Great value too. Thank you

A small boutique hotel overlooking the Indian Ocean, Turtle Bay Boutique Hotel is located in Kalamatiya, Sri Lanka. Just steps away from the beach, it features an outdoor pool and Ayurvedic spa.

Turtle bay is in a beautiful location with absolutely wonderful staff. Truly a one of a kind stay. The staff here go above & beyond to make your stay comfortable and welcoming. They even made us a special dinner on our last night and decorated our table beautifully. Beds are large and comfortable. Rooms are large with beautiful ocean view & balconies. This is a very small hotel so you feel like you’re the only guests there. Also, the pool is really large and beautiful. Food is very good although we found the seafood to be a little overcooked.

    The town has very little to offer.

    The town has very little to offer. It’s a noisy, chaotic typical Sri Lankan town. The only redeeming factor was Silent Beach on the Western side of town. We also enjoyed a nice meal at Cactus Lounge.

    Tangalle is a fairly sleepy town, with quiet beaches.

    Tangalle is a fairly sleepy town, with quiet beaches. Great place for a rest and recharge. There are a couple of supermarkets in the town centre, and a bottle shop. The beach is countless bars and restaurants.

    I liked the size of the city - just right to walk anywhere, plenty of options to buy fresh fruit, fish and good local food. The bus stand was easy to be found. There were always tuk tuk drivers around for when you needed it, but sometimes they were too eager to give you a ride even if you didn't want to. The city always felt safe, even at night.. even for a solo traveling young woman. There was a great food booth near the bus stand selling the best shawarma ever! There were plenty of beautiful beaches around, but the sea was too stormy. Nearby in Kapuhenwalla is a good turtle conservation project, where you could go see turtles hatch and lay eggs. I am definitely coming back~

    Tangalle is really nice but it is far better just 2/3...

    Tangalle is really nice but it is far better just 2/3 kilometres up the coast at Marocolyia beach and lagoon.Very peaceful and tranquil. This where Coconut Island cabanas is.There is also a small lake about 200 meters from the accommodation which is full with wading birds.Flamingos,Sacred and Glossy Ibis etc etc.

    We liked the hotel so much that we booked to stay longer - highly recommend this place and it's been my favourite place in Sri Lanka. Really comfortable room and Kavidi is lovely and super friendly and helpful. Plus the hotel is just a short walk to the Silent Beach so an ideal location - and great for evening strolls along the beach to see fireflies. The air con and WiFi are both really good too. This place was a real highlight of our holiday

    We had a wonderful stay with Sanu and Dashun. The villa is beautiful, clean, nice and quiet but close to many restaurants and stunning beaches. However, the best thing about this place are the hosts themselves. From the minute we arrived they were so welcoming and made our trip not only in Tangalle but the rest of our Sri Lanka adventure one to remember. Thank you so much Sanu and Dashun - we hope to see you again!

    Our best stay during our time in Sri Lanka. This budget guesthouse was really a lot for the money. Staff was super friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The room had everything we needed, two beds, ac, fan, working desk, 2 showers (one hot and one cold). This place is right by the beach in a chill and quiet area of Tangalle just 10 min walk from the centre. Also great sri lankan breakfast here!

    A truly fantastic stay, we stayed in the superior room which had an amazing view, the breakfast was among the best ones we had in Sri Lanka (super Sri Lankan omelette). The Team was very friendly and helpful. The beach right next to the hotel is definitely the nicest in Tangalle.
