We had a wonderful time at Hotel River Front Excellent host and very quick and easy responses to our questions before arriving. They arranged our safari with a lovely guide - saw 2 leopards within the first 10 mins! and our taxi onwards to the next location at a very competitive price. Thanks very much!

This is a very comfortable hotel and the family who runs it is lovely! They took me to see bats flying at sunset and cooked incredible meals. I also did the full day safari - my guide was extremely knowledgeable and respectful of the animals’ environment.

This is the perfect spot to unwind before and after a safari adventure. The location is stunning, with the serene Debarawewa Lake right in front, offering a chance to spot plenty of water birds and even a few crocodiles from a safe distance. The resort staff was incredibly helpful - they arranged a jeep to share for the safari, making it much more affordable. The shared safari option also gave us the chance to connect with other travelers, which was a lovely bonus. The rooms were comfortable, and I loved the cozy communal area in front of them. It’s a great space to relax, exchange safari stories, and chat with fellow adventurers about travel experiences. The atmosphere here is friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. If you're planning a trip to Yala, I highly recommend this place for its comfort, location, and the overall experience it offers. I’d happily stay here again!

Best guest house owner you will ever come across. Don’t hesitate and booked this stay! Nalin and his family not only provided dinner and breakfast, but also organized an amazing half day safari for me and on top of that showed me around the local lakes and nature. It’s a breathtaking environment you don’t want to miss!

We had the most amazing experience staying close to nature, surrounded by the jungle near Yala National Park. Our host, Sashika, was incredibly kind and made us feel truly welcome from the moment we arrived. He took us for an evening stroll on our first day and shared so many fascinating insights about Yala’s wildlife, which made the experience even more special. In the evening, our host prepared the best Sri Lankan dinner we had during our entire trip-absolutely delicious! We genuinely regret not staying longer and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable stay near Yala. We stayed in the treehouse and truly enjoyed the experience, feeling fully immersed in nature near Yala National Park.

We spent a lovely weekend with our teen daughters at the Halcyon Mawella. It was just the relaxed, low key weekend we were looking for. The staff were kind and helpful. Our room was clean & comfortable and we enjoyed the atmosphere by the pool & in the upper bar area. The grounds were really well cared for. The breakfast was amazing and we enjoyed the varied selections at the restaurant for lunch and dinner. I liked the fish tacos in particular. This place has a relaxed & luxurious vibe. If you are looking for busy nightlife and crowded beaches, this place isn't for you.

We miss this place since the first second we left, we had an amazing time there and will be back for sure. We ended up prolonging our stay one more night because it was hard to leave, if we could we would stay even longer. The location is perfect, right in front of a beautiful and peaceful beach, in 3 minutes you can be jumping in the water. The room was very spacious, with two big beds, big bathroom and super clean. The room is equipped with a fridge and you have a balcony were you can after a long day exploring Tangolle. The owners are lovely, always smilling and laughing, making you feel at home from the first minute. It was great to start the day with such a positive attitude. They can arrange you transportation to wherever you need to go, either within Tangolle or to other cities, and plan activities to you as for example turtle and whale watching, massage sessions and others. The breakfasts were amazing, good variety and different every day. We can't wait to be back, we are already planning our next visit to Sea Bay Inn. We can't recommend this place more, don't hesitate, you are going to have a fantastic time there.

The garden staff are awesome. +3. Ms. Nawodha, Ms.Shakiya, Ms.Dileka and Mr.Hasitha, all are front office staff, who are professional, attentive and courteous. Sri Lanka needs more good workers like these guys in the hospitality sector. A big thank you to them. +4. Restaurant staff are good, courteous, and very efficient. A big thank you to all of them. +5. Reasonably good food. I believe the food could be better. The chef must work on creating better food with more variety. Food is a very important aspect of any hotel, and it should be handled carefully. +6. A very good size pool, very well kept. The pool young attendant gentleman is absolutely hardworking. He is really am assett tpnthis hotel. He keeps the pool absolutely clean at all times.

The team at Wild Coast were very attentive and very friendly and positive in their roles, we were treated like royalty. The rooms were exceptional and very comfortable. The bath was amazing and the products provided were a great thought by the resort. The food was next level and we attempted to try something different each night however it was hard as our first night the meal was exceptional and it was hard to not have it again. I think the pool in both the room and the resort were the perfect size and temperature. The wildlife around the resort is great and you are encouraged not to interact with it to ensure it stays as nature should! However the monkeys did scare me a little! Overall a perfect experience and I would highly recommend at least a 2 night stay !

We loved the location of this hotel. It was beautiful. Our main purpose was to go for Safari, and this hotel is perfectly located from Yala National Park. They even packed us breakfast at 5am, so we can take it with us to Safari. We spent an afternoon at the pool, (and had it all to ourselves which was also a bonus). The food was great, and we had the buffet there. The staff were all amazing. Everyone that worked there, were quite young, but incredibly professional, polite and kind, and they all really went out of their way to help us.

This hotel is a real gem! With rooms facing the lake and an island with dozens of birds, this is the right place to organize a safari in the YALA reserve. The hotel staff is friendly, smiling, pleasant, and very efficient. The room was very comfortable, and the meals varied and satisfying. Highly recommended. (Don't forget to look at the small pool at the reception - ornamental fish and frogs that land on the leaves of the water plants).

The stay was really pleasant. The staff was super friendly and protective. They always taking care of us and our vehicles from wildlife. Our Deluxe double room was simply splendid with more space and really great view of the ocean. The food was really superb, there was a really wide selection of food and desserts.

Lots of gorgeous beaches nearby don’t stay on the main town beach. Take a bus to silent beach / Goyambokka beach / red beach / pallikudwua etc - you could walk from the town to Red beach and Pallikafwua too in 30 minutes Free sunbeds if you eat/ drink at the local beach bars at every beach

The safari felt unethical and the drivers were crowding the few animals we saw, stressing them out. I really would not recommend the safari here and don’t understand how there’s so many positive reviews.

This place is amazing.

This place is amazing. We stay with our 3 young kids and the staff were so kind and attentive. All of the small details have been thought of and it’s a wonderful experience in nature. Lovely local Sri Lankan are served for each meal.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend. Large comfortable room close to the pool, with restaurant and plenty of cold beer. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Anyone looking for a visit to the National Park should consider staying at Tringa and booking the tour with them as they will make sure you have a great experience.

Weerawila, located in a dry zone of Sri Lanka, is ideal for wildlife safaris and nature experiences. This location is especially convenient during the rainy season, as it often stays dry even when the rest of the country is experiencing thunderstorms. We chose it specifically to avoid heavy rains.

Authentic family experience.

Authentic family experience. Two beaches, bird sanctuary and a fishery. Small but beautiful temple. Big rocks for line fishing. Bird watching. Relaxing. You can walk around the village, a couple of little shops. No restaurants as such. I had home cooked food from the main house.

Tangalle is a cozy, small city where you find whatever you need. A variety of beaches in and around in both directions, some of them really hidden gems, but also quiet family beaches where you can bring your kids.

It should be on everyone’s itinerary!

It should be on everyone’s itinerary! The safari was amazing- go for the all day! And Jami Riverside Hotel is run by a wonderful host couple and the accommodations were comfortable, clean and affordable. They will make all the safari arrangements with the park for you if you wish. We had a wonderful driver -PHN Kasun Sampath.

It definitely is an experience worth trying.

It definitely is an experience worth trying. The tree house has all the comforts you need but yet kept on the simple side. Don't expect much and you will get a lot. Nice food Bbq and big fire lit for you in the evening to give you a chance to relax and talk about your day activities. It was great to be left alone and the silence of the night. There were times you just felt that we were the only ones there and when you needed something the staff would magically appear
