Transport is modern, reliable and FREE , all over the Country so take advantage and move about the country. the City is walk-able in the old town and very cosmopolitan and mixed cultures--- French , German or English widely spoken with luxemburgish, although you'll hear many different languages spoken. out in the Country-side , buses get you round effortlessly and are modern and regular too. Prices are not as expensive as Switzerland, more on par with France, tipping is optional or 5% . we took the IC train from Brussels , but for any-one flying in to the City airport you can catch the modern tram now right into the city.Guest review byPJR,SuffolkUnited Kingdom - 8.0

An interesting place to visit - lots of history and pretty walks through the town. As you would expect, influences from France and Germany but with a local twist. Probably not on everyone's radar but worth a stop for a day or two. There are many sights to visit and see, most within walking...
There are many sights to visit and see, most within walking distance of the centre. Place d'Arme and Place de Guilliam provide a number of places to eat and drink, the covered stage in Place d'Arme providing a location for music groups to perform in all weathers. There are regular markets in Place de Guilliam, and when we were there - there was a daily film show each evening. The center is generally 'flat' and pedestrianised. It is a clean and accessible town with interesting monuments, good restaurants and pretty countryside. There are many parks as well. There seems to be entertainment in the main square nightly in the summertime. The transportation is free throughout the country so its easy to explore via train, bus or tram. A small country, but plenty to see and do. Luxembourg City is dramatically sited above and in a deep river valley and has great views and interesting historical sites. Away from the city check out lovely countryside of woods and rivers in the Ardennes as well as the Moselle river valley on the German border. The hotel is right at the main transport (and public transport is FREE in Luxemburg) hub in the country. In spite of this my room was very quiet. I was warned about building works next door, but I noticed nothing of that. Free bus (No 29) from and to the airport outside the railway station. Free tram into the city centre.
